Twice now on city streets accelerating from stops to either go straight or turn left the car has kind of stalled or lost power causing potential crashes with oncoming and rear vehicles.
The eight speed automatic transmission makes a loud grinding noise in the mid gear range when under any sort of load. Occasionally this noise prevents a proper downshift uphill, preventing the proper amount of power to be distributed, and as a result the car slows. The lack of power, as a result of a delayed downshift and grinding of the transmission, can also be noted when trying to overtake on a highway. When traveling at highway speeds and the throttle is depressed to speed up, the transmission grinds and produces power only after a delay. This is especially dangerous when traffic is closely following behind my vehicle. It happens in all driving modes (normal, sport, eco, custom). The noise is very distracting to the driver. Vw has stated this is a normal noise, and offers no fix for the problem. The noise began with only 150 miles on the car, and has been getting worse ever since. Please conduct an investigation into this defect.
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY NEW 2019 VW Jetta I HEARD A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE BETWEEN 20 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR FROM A STOP. I DO NOT HEAR IT ONCE THE CAR IS GOING. AFTER ONLY 1200 MILES IT IS ALSO LOW ON OIL. IT IS NOT EVEN DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE YET.CAR WAS PURCHASED DECEMBER 29TH OF 2019.

Makes a loud grinding noise when accelerating. Dealership tries to say it? S normal. Feel vibrations in gas pedal. Happens usually between 20-40 mph. Rpm gauge appears to stick. Looked up complaints and there are several matching what i am experiencing. A certified mechanic not associated with dealership thinks it? S a bad torque converter or transmission issue. Vw says it? S normal and refuses to fix it.
My key keeps getting stuck in the ignition and wont come out. I have to leave my car running for hours until the key finally comes out.
When the car is in motion, and the aisin transmission is shifting, the vehicle makes a scraping or grinding noise from the powertrain (transmission) and it also hesitates when stopping and taking off at a red light or stop sign.
On july 1st ,2020 upon arrival to a store once in park and i tried to turn the car off the key would not turn at all meaning the car was not able to be shut off after about 20 minutes of trying to turn the steering wheel thinking it was locked i finally got the car to shut off after googling it and reading many other forums that talked about the same car issue i was having it said to pull the emergency brake and then to turn the key so i did and it finally shut off it stayed parked till july 6 th that i went to a few different mechanics in town i found one that tried to help same with him he could not turn the key to shut the car off he advised me to take it to the dealership being that it was an hour away and i was low on gas i had to pump gas with the car running because i again was not able to shut the car off which i felt unsafe doing but at this point i no longer knew what to do i called the dealership before leaving she said they were backed up but to come down and they should be able to help upon arrival at the dealership i was told they could not help me until friday!! While the worker was sitting in my car and he himself could not shut off i told him where in the parking lot should i leave it because there was no way that i could take it home and leave it running for 3 days they pulled to the side of the building and already had the hood up trying to shut the car off they called and said it would be 740. 00 plus taxes mind you it already had a scheduled appointment for the 13th for 2 recalls it had already.

The sunroof exploded while driving on the highway. There was no impact by debri or collision... It just exploded suddendly. This is extremely dangerous. It is alarming while driving, shattered glass flying at you is extremely dangerous to the driver, the passengers, and other drivers on the road!
PURCHASED NEW 2017 VW Jetta FROM THE DEALER. ALWAYS KEEP UP WITH THE SERVICE. ALARM HORN HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY WORKING AND FINALLY WENT OUT AT 43000 MILES. AFTER READING MANY MESSAGE BOARDS SEEMS LIKE AN ONGOING ISSUE ON MANY NEW MODELS WITH LOW MILES.
MY CAR CAN BE TURNED OFF AND DOES NEED TO BE IN PARK. THE ELECTRICAL COMES AND GOES BUT THE MOST ALARMING IS THE Jetta ACCELERATES ON IT?S OWN AND IT TAKES A COUPLE OF MINUTES TO GET IT UNDER CONTROL. AT ONE POINT I HAVE NO WAY OF STOPPING THE ACCELERATION TO STOP. ALSO, I ASKED CRESTMONT VW IF IT WAS NORMAL TO HAVE CAR OFF AND NOT IN PARK. THEY ACTED LIKE IT WAS NORMAL. THE JETTA HAS ROLLED BACK AND ALMOST HIT PEOPLE. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RECALLS FROM THE COMPANY. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
The car is brand new with 6317 miles. Driving home and it pings on the panel with the oil sensor light oil is low. We pull over and check there are no leaks. No reason for this in a brand new car. Light stayed on. We were on a highway 60 miles from home. Call dealer he said bring it in they are having issues with them using oil. This is an issue.
I DRIVE A 2016 VW Jetta ,MY EPC LIGHT CAME ON.WHEN I MADE AN APPT WITH THE VW DEALER, THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC ON MY CAR WITH THE CODE P22630,WHICH IS THE TURBOCHARGER /BOOST. THE COST FOR THE PART IS ABOUT $ 2500. FOR A CAR THAT IS ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD AND HAVING A MAJOR REPAIR ISSUE ,IAM SO DISAPPOINTED AND FEEL NOT SAFE AT ALL. HOW CAN A TURBO CHARGER BOOST BREAK ALREADY!!!! THATS MY COMPLAINT. ANYONE ELSE HAS A PROBLEM LIKE THAT?
The car lost power on a city street at about 40 mph then my son couldn? T steer or brake. All dash lights were flashing so we have no idea what is really wrong. Trying to get off of the road he went into a ditch. The radiator was busted/leaking so he had to get his step father to come get it. I cannot afford the radiator to get it fixed at this time due to the note on it. It has done this to me in the past. I noticed the odd whining sound it makes when cranked was worse the day it happened to me. I was on the highway at 55mph so i stopped and about 10 minutes later cranked it and it made it home. We had it checked for codes and it showed no problem codes.
I have had many issues with the key fob. It is often very difficult to lock or unlock the car unless i am within 5 feet of it and the car does not respond well to the fob signal. Additionally, on numerous occasions while the fob has been in my pocket, due to the poor design of the fob, the trunk has inadvertently opened up. Not only are these issues a nuisance, but they can be dangerous if they happen while driving or in another situation. This has happened while both being stationary and while driving.
Often it is nearly impossible to turn the key back to turn the engine off; seems to be mechanical failure of the ignition switch. This seems to be a common and pervasive problem with people reporting being unable to turn the engine off for hours. Will have to have this fixed at probably great expense, as it is obviously not safe to have a car idle unattended for long periods of time.
I was driving when i went to shift from second to third the clutch would not return. Had the car for less than 400 miles the car had already 2600 miles on it when i bought it. I was assured there were no other problems with it and the dealer is trying to make it that i had burned the clutch i. E a wear issue after driving for two weeks. There is no possible way this could happen after such a short time. I am in dealings with both volkswagen and the dealership to get this issue fixed. It was very scary to have a car give out like that while driving and should not happen.
I HAVE A 2019 VW Jetta GLI BOUGHT NEW FROM VW DEALER. WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR IN THE MORNING OR AFTER ITS BEEN SITTING, BASICALLY COLD, IT IDLES VERY ROUGH. THE WHOLE CAR VIBRATES AND SHAKES. AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP THIS GOES AWAY. THE RIDE OF THE CAR FEELS LIKE THERE IS NO SUSPENSION. YOU FEEL EVERY BUMP IN THE ROAD. I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN MOTION SICK FROM A VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. THIS CAR GIVES ME MOTION SICKNESS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. I HAVE HAD OTHERS DRIVE THE CAR AND REPORT THE SAY THING. I HAVE HAD PASSENGERS IN THE CAR AND THEY CAN'T BELIEVE HOW HARD THE RIDE IS. I HAVE TRIED ALL THE MODES ECO, NORMAL, SPORT AND THEY ALL HAVE A HORRIBLE RIDE QUALITY. THE WORST THING IS I WAS DRIVING THE CAR HOME AFTER WORK AND WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT THE A/C STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR. AFTER COMING OFF THE RED LIGHT I STARTED SMELLING FUEL COMING FROM THE A/C SYSTEM. THE A/C SYSTEM WAS ON MAX A/C WITH THE RECIRC ON, SO WAS NOT ON FRESH AIR. PULLED OVER, OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW FIRE COMING FROM BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND FIREWALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I DROPPED THE HOOD AND THE FIRE BALL SHOT OUT THE SIDE PASSENGER SIDE RIGHT BEHIND THE PASSENGER FRONT TIRE. THE SIDE AND UNDER CARRIAGE OF THE CAR WAS ON FIRE AND IS BURNT UP. I CONTACTED THE DEALER THEY SAID TO DRIVE IT IN AND THEY WILL TAKE A LOOK AT IT. DRIVE IT IN???? AFTER IT WAS ON FIRE???
