TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 Volvo S60. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START-UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LAFONTAINE VOLVO CARS OF FARMINGTON HILLS (24730 HAGGERTY RD, FARMINGTON HILLS, MI 48335, (248)579-1300) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE REPAIRED. SEVERAL DAYS LATER AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 30 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF MISFIRES ON TWO CYLINDERS DUE TO OIL CONSUMPTION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.

2016 Volvo S60. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 20V-378. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIR. *JS

ON 12-MAR-2021, I WAS SITTING IN MY 2019 Volvo S60, AND IT WAS NOT RUNNING. I WAS USING THE CENTER DISPLAY TO LOOK AT THE PROFILE SETTINGS. THE CAR WAS SET TO THE PROFILE FOR ?GUEST?. I THEN PRESSED ?PROFILE 1? AND THE FRONT SEAT STARTED TO GO FORWARD AND THEN TILT DOWN, AND THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO TO STOP IT AS I APPROACHED THE STEERING WHEEL. FORTUNATELY IT STOPPED BEFORE I WAS INJURED, BUT I WONDERED WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WAS A VERY BIG PERSON ? COULD THEY HAVE BEEN PINNED AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL AND INJURED? I SENT A NOTE TO VOLVO, AND THEY RESPONDED THE SAME DAY (SAT 13-MAR-2021), AND THEIR REP STATED "THE OWNER'S MANUAL WOULD HAVE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SET A DRIVER'S PROFILE TO A SELECTED KEY FOB TO AVOID A SITUATION LIKE THIS IN THE FUTURE. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU NEED ANYTHING FURTHER AT THIS TIME."

My car was excessively burning oil. It required multiple oil changes and i wasn't notified of the low oil until the oil was nearly empty. Volvo performed tests to confirm i had an oil consumption issue that cost over $500. The initial repair was to replace the piston rings. Now they've told me the pistons are scored from the lack of oil/consumption and i require a new engine. The lack of notifications of low oil and the damage to my engine pose a safety risk. I know this issue is occurring across a wide range of volvos.

The sunroof spontaneously exploded outward on the highway, no possibility of road debris hitting it as no other cars were nearby, and i was not close to an overpass. I believe temperature fluctuation causes it, as i was recently in below-freezing weather (15*f). On the day of the explosion i drove south starting at 40*f driving to 86*f.

MY S60 2015.5 ABRUPTLY CUT OFF WHEN AT A STANDSTILL "STATIONARY" IN TRAFFIC AND ON THE HIGHWAY TRAFFIC THE WARNING SYSTEM SOUND CAME ON, AS IF CLOSE TO AN OBJECT, THEN THE SCREEN FLASHED ON THEN OFF ONE TIME. WITHIN MINUTES OF A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR CUTS OFF COMPLETELY. THE SCREEN DISPLAYED "TURN ON ENGINE." MY CAR HAD TO BE PLACED IN PARK BEFORE THE ENGINE WOULD START. THIS HAD OCCURRED AT LEAST THREE TIMES IN 2019. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE. THE ISSUE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPICATED AND NO FAULT CODE.

We bought this car used from a volvo dealership in august of 2019 while still under factory warranty. It has 19-inch volvo alloy wheels with 235/40/r19 tires. In a little over a year, two of the wheels have cracked presumably after hitting potholes. We had both wheels repaired at a professional wheel repair facility. The repair worked (so far) on the first wheel but the problem has recurred twice on the second wheel repair. The volvo dealership's only offer is to sell us a new wheel at over $700 each. We have never cracked a wheel previously in over 40 years of driving. This wheel/tire combination should never have been allowed on the road being so prone to cracking. We are at a much-increased risk of a flat tire/blowout and possible accident. The car also came from the factory without a spare tire which is also not good since we are more likely to be stranded in the event of a flat tire. We no longer consider this car roadworthy and are faced with the expensive options of either replacing the damaged wheel with a new volvo wheel (and expect the same result), replacing all four wheels with aftermarket wheels that may or may not be better, or selling the car. We should never have been put in this position from a safety and financial perspective by this wheel or wheel/tire combination being allowed on the road.

The brake suddenly lost braking power after the brake pedal was depressed at a red light on a local street. Every time i press the brake pedal after the incident, i could hear a sound of air leaking somewhere behind the pedal. Other systems seem fine and i managed to roll the car back to our parking lot about half a mile away, and had the car tolled to a local dealer the next day. I was told later by the dealer that it's caused by malfunction of brake "booster" or vacuum pump(? ) and repaired it at a cost of ~$2500. 00

The manufacturer has not corrected a known recall. Nor have i received an update. This is the second notice in the attached document. They state there is not yet parts available to correct it. But according to the nhtsa web site vin look-up, the recall is listed as recall incomplete. When if there is no fix available it should be listed as recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available. We have received recall notifications, the first attachment. We have not received a follow-up notification for either recall notices. In the one for nhtsa recall 20v-378 recall r10029: front seat belt fastener states: "unfortunately at this time, replacement parts are not available for this repair. Please be assured that volvo is working to secure the needed replacement seat belt fastener as soon as possible. Estimated time for parts in stock is end of november, 2020. We will send you a second notification letter as soon as the new replacement fastener is available. " my problem is that i am a u. S. Government civilian employee preparing to relocate from italy to the u. S. I shipped this car to italy from the u. S. In november 2018. The shipping company will not ship a car with an open recall. I need something in writing that accurately reflects the recall status; "recall incomplete" or "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available"?

Check engine light keeps going on. Bring it to a body shop and nothing changed. Car just shuts down while trying to drive it.

Parking break can become temporarily unavailable and when this happens the information center does not relay any other information when the auto is running! Gps, tire pressure, etc low gas, etc information is voided. Three times car had to be repair, apparently water, coffee etc can get into the switch as the switch is located next to the cup holders between the seats. Bad location or poor design of the switch? Serious "because running information" is voided on dash!. First repair was free, second time the repair was to cost $500. Third time (at a different dealership)repair was no cost ("coffee or other may have gotten into the switch" one mechanic not related to volvo suggested that they simply disconnect the battery, wait and reconnect so that the computer system is voided for a few minutes. Vehicle was in motion on city and highway when problem occured...

I have 86,585 miles on the car and have followed or exceeded the manufactures recommendation on oil changes. Now i am told after my last oil change that the engine is consuming a lot of oil. At 80,000 miles my volvo dealership changed the type of oil they were putting in the car from 5w-30 full syn. To 0w20 full syn. I believe there is a problem with the engine and volvo knows it by trying to stop the oil usage by changing the type of oil they recommend. What do i do if i have a engine problem with my car???

The car has intermittent noise coming from the right side hub bearing. The dealer and volvo corp refusing to fix the issue and even put the car on the lift. If hub will seize it can cause a big accident if it will be on the highway. All the dealer and volvo rap did was drove the car around the block didn't hear the noise and refusing to diagnose more and replace the faulty part. Volco corp close the case on this issue and refusing to open another one. Meanwhile the car not very safe to drive. Same issue was with left side and it took volvo month to finally replace it even they herd the noise but didnt wanna believe it was the hub. Dealer is kundert volvo of hasbrouck

While driving on a sunny day i kept being blinded by chrome / mirror finish elements surrounding the steering wheel. It wasn't happening only for a moment, my eyes hurt after driving home from work. That is very distracting and affects driver's vision! To hide my eyes from the blinding light, i had to move the steering wheel to very uncomfortable position (what still didn't solve the problem) or pretty much cover flashing spots with my hands. That creates a hazardous conditions everytime when the sun is out. I am attaching a picture, but it doesn't show how harsh are these lights on human eye. That needs to be experienced. Maybe it wouldn't be that much of a problem if it was rare but it happens continuously when the sun is higher on the sky (around noon hours). *tr

2016 Volvo S60 AUDIO MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. THIS CONTROLS THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM, TELEPHONE, RADIO, CAR OPTIONS, AUDIO FOR SAFETY ALERTS, ETC. STOP WORKING AS I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. ALSO DRAINED BATTERY AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY TOO. *TR

Driving vehicle at normal speed (45mph) when engine shut off entirely. Vehicle flashed brake controller failure and was able to be coasted to a stop on a side street. Power steering had failed at the time as well. The vehicle was unable to be restarted. Vehicle had 46370 miles at the time of the incident and had its previous oil change around 45000 miles. After replacing a battery and starter, it began making rod knock. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where they said it needed a new engine, and was 2 quarts low on oil. Https://www. Youtube.
