Rearview mirrors do not return to their saved positions after shifting into reverse then shifting back into drive. This will compound over time and shift the rearview mirror positions lower and lower. Stored positions are not affected, as recalling a saved driver setting will move the mirrors back to the correct stored positions.

Owner is experiencing a loud popping sound in the driver dash area that is triggered by turning, acceleration, or going over bumps. The noise seems to be coming from the firewall area where the steering passes through the firewall. Exploding sunroof. On friday 26 jan 2018, at 4:10pm, i was driving in alabama on interstate 65 northbound mile at marker 180 in the middle lane at 70 mph. The temperature was approximately 55f and overcast with no rain. There was no traffic in front of me for at least a half a mile nor traffic to the side or rear for at least a quarter of a mile. I had not passed under a bridge for at least a mile. I saw no objects coming from the front or above. At this time, i heard a loud report like a gunshot followed by wind noise. Glass starting falling through the sunroof shade vents. I pulled over and observed that the sunroof had shattered. There was no other damage to the roof (dents or scratches) or vehicle. I then drove another 4 miles home and took a photo of the damage. I contacted the dealer who said he had heard of this kind of incident before but told me to contact my insurance company. I contacted the insurance company and they will pay for the repair minus my $250 deductible.

As we were driving on i-95 near summerville sc on jan 5th in the early afternoon (approx. Speed 70 mph) the sunroof suddenly imploded sounding like a gunshot going off. There was no projectile heard or seen prior to the sudden shattering. Thankfully, the internal cover prevented the majority of glass from entering the passenger compartment. Because we didn't hear or see a projectile, the only conclusion we came to was that the temperature differential may have led to the sudden crack (this trip took place during the bomb cyclone in the south). On the other hand, this car has been in equally cold temperature in tahoe and in bend and besides, this is automotive glass so it shouldn't have shattered as completely as it did! When driving to work i frequently hear debris from trucks hitting my windshield and it to date has not shattered like this event with the sunroof!

Car experiences predetonation/preignition of the spark plugs. This causes the timing to be retarded, causing a very dangerous lack of power, i have taken the car in 7x for resolution, they have rebuilt the engine, issue is reoccurring. Volvo cars of na is doing nothing to resolve the issue. There are multiple reports of this issue on the internet (sweedespeed ethusiast forum) as well as many other examples of this yet, once again, volvo cars na is refusing to address or resolve this issue resulting in a danger to the american public. I have included the letter i sent to scott doering, vp of customer service, he had one of his team call me today to deny my request to extend the warranty or resolve the issue. In my letter is the chronology of service visits, of which i also have the receipts. *js

The interior around the front windshield impairs your ability to see certain objects clearly. The suspension is very tight to the point that you may feel like you are loosing control of the car. Also the cruise control does not recognize vehicles entering from another lane or when the car is turning.

The steering wheel paddle shifters automatically turn themselves off. This is very dangerous in situation where engine braking is necessary (inclement weather, steep down grades. When using the paddles to down shift and slow the car, they will automatically turn off, the car then shifts into higher gears, causing the car to accelerate (when going downhill or while slowing in slippery conditions). The car can be put into "sport mode", but this cause the accelerator pedal to become very touchy, which is unsafe in slippery condition. The paddle shifters should never automatically turn themselves off, it should always be the driver that engages and disengages them.

While driving on the interstate at approx. 65 mph, the sunroof exploded with glass blowing up towards the sky. At first, i heard a loud "bang" that sounded like a gun firing and then shards of glass started raining down upon me from above. Shards of glass also filled the rear seat area. If my wife were driving the car, she probably would have panicked, causing an accident involving other vehicles. Also, if there was a car immediately behind mine, they would have been showered with glass shards from the glass shooting up from my vehicle. If a motorcyclist, it would not have been good. The entire sunroof glass that remains is totally shattered. *tr

I AM A SINGLE MOM WITH AN AUTISTIC SON, AND TWO OTHER CHILDREN. I USED TO WORK FOR MITCHELL VOLVO IN SIMSBURY, CT AND JUST PURCHASED MY 2015.5 Volvo V60 IN DECEMBER AND ONLY HAVE 10K MILES ON IT. I DRIVE, LITERALLY, THREE MILES PER DAY, EXCEPT FOR MY FIRST INCIDENT: IN EARLY JULY 2016, I DROVE TO ROCHESTER, NY FOR A FUNERAL FOR MY UNCLE. UPON PULLING OUT INTO RT 495, I HIT THE GAS, AND NOTHING. I HAD MY AUTISTIC SON AND 87 YEAR OLD FATHER IN THE CAR, I PANICKED AS CARS WERE COMING, AND CAR WASN'T MOVING, I SLAMMED ON THE GAS, AND THE CAR BANGED INTO GEAR AND WENT. BROUGHT IT INTO MICHELL'S AND A TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE WAS FOUND ON THE ENGINE. IT WAS "SUPPOSEDLY FIXED". AFTER THAT, THE CAR SHIFTED FUNNY AND THE GEAR SHIFT ITSELF WAS LOOSE AND YOU DIDN'T FEEL THE TIGHTNESS OF FEELING THE CAR GO INTO GEAR AS YOU SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE, ETC. THEN TRAVELED TO THE CAPE TWO WEEKS LATER, WAS BACKING UP, BACK UP CAMERA WAS ON, THEN HEARD THE ENGINE REV, AND LOOKED DOWN AND CAR HAD SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL. I CALLED MITCHELLS AND THEY COULDN'T GET ME IN FOR THREE WEEKS SO THAT I COULD HAVE A LOANER VEHICLE. THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP NOW, MITCHELL VOLVO, AND THEY ARE FINDING NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION! THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP! I'VE BEEN A FAITHFUL VOLVO CUSTOMER, HAD A NIGHTMARE 2005 XC90 AND IF YOU LOOK AT MY RECORD WITH VOLVO, I HELPED 20 OTHER FAMILIES WITH THE SAME ISSUE RECEIVE FREE SECOND AND THIRD FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS FROM VOLVO. I DON'T TAKE FAULTY/POORLY DESIGNED VEHICLES THAT CAUSE MY FAMILIES SAFETY TO BE PUT ON THE TABLE LIGHTLY. I HAVE ALREADY FILED ON THE EDMUNDS BLOG YET AGAIN! I WILL BE FILING WITH THE NTSB, EDMUNDS CONSISTENTLY, AND THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT CONSUMER PROTECTION AND MOTOR VEHICLE UNLESS VOLVO IS FOR ONCE WILLING TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE THIS TIME. THIS CAR HAS SO FEW MILES, VOLVO SHOULD DO SOMETHING.
