MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING WITH MY GRANDDAUGHTER AND WAS HIT FROM THE REAR, TOTALING MY 2019 Subaru Outback. BOTH MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER REPORTED HITTING THE DASHBOARD OR THE WINDSHIELD. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND THE DRIVER'S HEADREST ENDED UP ON THE DRIVER'S LAP. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, THE FRONT AUTO WAS ABOUT TO START FORWARD OR HAD STARTED FORWARD WHEN THE SIGNAL LIGHT HAD JUST TURNED GREEN.. THE POLICE REPORT IS ATTACHED, WITH A LETTER FROM THE MERIDIAN, IDAHO POLICE DEPARTMENT. MY CONCERNS ARE 1) SHOULD THE AIRBAGS HAVE DEPLOYED AND 2) SHOULD THE DRIVER'S HEADREST HAVE DETACHED FROM THE SEAT? IF THE DRIVER'S CONTACT INFO IS NEEDED, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

While i was driving at a rate of 25 mph on a residential road my driver side ahr bracket had broken and deployed the headrest safety system in to the rear of my head causing me to momentarily swerve into the incoming traffic lane. Thankfully there were no vehicles. It was a very disturbing incident and i am experiencing minor neck pain and the vehicle is unable to be driven in this position.

I was driving down the road at approximately 50 m. P. H. , when the headrest on the passenger's seat exploded. Thankfully no one was seated in it at the time. I have since discovered that this is a common problem with several jeep models. I am now concerned, wondering when or if the driver's side may deploy while i am driving.

FORD RECALL 19C07- { APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ONE OR MORE MECHANICAL FRONT SEATS- POTENTIAL LACK OF SEAT RESTRAINT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH}. I RECEIVED THIS NOTICE BY MAIL AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY 2019 Ford Explorer AT 'GARY YEOMANS FORD PALM BAY' ZIP-32907. THEY DID NOT REPAIR THIS RECALL. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN ON 07/27/20. MY REPAIR ORDER STATES THEIR TECH #5534 FOUND: "THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE ONE OR MORE MECHANICALLY ADJUSTABLE FRONT SEATS. BOTH SEATS IN THIS VEHICLE ARE ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED". THE VIN SAYS THEY BOTH ARE POWER-WHICH I QUESTIONED AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE-AT THIS SAME DEALERSHIP. I WAITED 3 FULL DAYS FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED WITHOUT A LOANER VEHICLE-WHILE THIS TECH WAS TOO LAZY TO WALK FROM THE DRIVER SEAT TO THE PASSENGER SEAT TO INSPECT THAT IT WASN'T A POWER SEAT. I ALSO REQUESTED THE 2ND ROW PASSENGER SEAT BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. IT CONTINUES TO GET STUCK AND WON'T FOLD UP OR CLICK INTO PLACE IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. TWICE IT HAS JOLTED FORWARD IN THE OPEN POSITION UPON BRAKING, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, HITTING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. ONE OF THESE TIMES MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN THIS SEAT - I CAN ONLY THANK GOD SHE WASN'T A TODDLER. FOR THIS REASON MY PASSENGERS CANNOT SIT IT IN IT - IT VERY WELL COULD KILL THEM. THIS SAME TECHNICIAN STATES ON MY REPAIR ORDER: "VERIFIED THAT THE REAR SECOND ROW SEATS FOLD UP AND DOWN AND OPERATE PROPERLY". I HAVE BEEN GRILLED ABOUT GIVING A FIVE STAR REVIEW

Passenger active headrest deployed while vehicle parked, will not reset. These vehicles have an active headrest system that is designed to deploy forward in the event of a crash but the plastic housing that keeps it in place has crumbled and made the headrest leap forward in the deployed state and will not go back into position and hold.

The active head restraint of the front passenger seat was deployed while the vehicle was parked overnight, due to the faulty plastic housing of the retaining pin. The pin just tore through the plastic while remaining in the latch itself. Looking through the internet i can see that this is not an isolated incident. Seems to be happening quite frequently to fca cars. Obviously there is a design flaw on the composition of the plastic used by fca for the housing, which weakens with time under the constant load of the heavy springs. Didn't seem to be able to find a recall for it though. This is a serious safety concern! I am now worried that the driver's side is next and i might actually be driving when it happens!!!

The rear view/backup camera has not worked since the day we drove it home. It will work intermittently but most of the time it shows wavy lines across the screen. Occasionally after shifting from reverse to drive, the camera will start working but the rear view picture will remain on the screen even while in drive! There is also a strange hump in the dash on the passenger side as if something is pushing up from underneath. The dealer was contacted the day after purchase and we were told to bring the vehicle back for inspection. Now we are told that parts are not available and they don't know when they will be. Ford has been contacted and we are getting no help from them either. We have a brand new, expensive, defective, and potentially dangerous vehicle. It also has the strange lump in the driver's seat that others have mentioned.

While driving to work, the driver side head rest deployed. I was not involved in an accident, just idling at a stoplight. Thankfully, i did not sustain any injuries. I called the dealership i purchased from and the service department said that the repair cost would be out of my pocket. How is this ok when it clearly has to be a manufacturer malfunction. This seriously needs some attention and a recall issued.

The seat sensor on the passenger side is faulty, causing the air bag light to staty on while operating the vehicle - the "pre-sense" light to stay on - and the un-buckled seat belt alarm to stay going off. All while operating the vehicle. The brand dealership said airbag maynot deploy while seat sensor is malfuctioning. $1200 repair.
