When i operate my 2017 ford f250 at speeds greater than 45 mph and encounter a pot hole or bump in the road the truck begins a terrible "death wobble". The steering wheel shakes violently and the entire truck shakes and rattles. The dealership replaced a steering damper as part of a ford extended warranty program but now claim the problem will persist because i have worn ball joints and a drag link that needs replaced. I was told this would cost me over $1,100 and it is not covered by ford although it is obviously a flaw and a result of the failed damper. I can't believe ford is willing to ignore such an issue. My family won't ride on the highway in the truck as it is too frightening for them. The sad part is the truck has 25,000 miles and cost me $50,000 and i can't drive it or depend on it now.
I HAD MY 2015 Escalade ESV IN THE SHOP FOR A SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND WAS INFORMED THAT BOTH MY RADIATOR AND FRONT STRUTS WERE LEAKING. MY TRUCK HAS 40,677 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER QUOTED ME 1,532 FOR THE RADIATOR AND 1,822 FOR THE FRONT STRUTS.
Car shuts off while driving and at red lights front end struts are wore out transmission skips car rpms go up but want shift 9 codes
Front struts have failed and require replacement. Gm has changed design on replacement struts which indicates there was a problem. This repair cost several thousand dollars and fir a new vehicle it should be covered by warranty. Afffects steering. No control on bumpy service.
Severe shaking and vibration after hitting a small bump in the road. This has happened multiple times now and usually at speeds greater than 50 mph. The violent shaking only subsides when speed is greatly reduced ie below 30mph. It only happens after a small bump in the road.
Display on my vehicle keeps saying front radar obstruction although nothing is either on the road nor in front of my vehicle. This does this without warning at least 5-6 times while i? M driving on city streets, highway or just turning. At random the warning will show and the lights will come up on my driver panel then a few mins later it goes off.
Started making a cracking lose metal noise when hitting a small bump or turning the wheel all the way to either side... While driving on the freeway 405 south coming from the 10 downtown.. I was going about 40 mph as rush hour started.. On a small ramp turning the steering wheel started shaking and within a sec the front driver wheel rolled out , truck landed hard on the highway while still moving breaks got stuck, shift it to natural, push bottom to kill the engine. And emergency break was applied to stop the truck.. Fender and ball joints and otors were damage as well as the shocks i believe...
Here is a 2020 terdsla in the junkyard. Https://www. Iaai. Com/vehicledetails/39122553? Tenant=us&rownumber=5 it is listed as having been stolen. I'm guessing the thief drove it like he stole it. Bad mistake to do that in a terdsla. The front wheel fell off. Every part of the suspension has snapped. The control arms, steering arm, steering knuckle ball joints and every other giblet has snapped like a chocolate frog. I know you wouldn't want to upset lord elon but would you mind at least issuing a warning to the public about these tent built electric jalopies. Than you. Keef.
Purchased 75,000 mile warranty with tob. Around 30,000 motor replaced. Oil consumption. Nc. Had it at midas at 67,584 miles because of unusual noises in the front end. Was determined to be the drivetrain. Advised me to check with tom o'brien chrysler, dodge, jeep ram in greenwood indiana that it might be under warranty. Had it there twice, midas greenwood twice and fletcher chrysler, dodge, jeep ram in franklin indiana twice. Each made repairs to it costing me $595 total in out-of-pocket deductibles. Billing to warranty company: midas $1933. 57, fletcher $618 and tob $2267 which is "the mechanic" (mechanical repair service contract) tel # 800-621-2130. Contract # gw227456. The vehicle had these issues of unusual noises on rough pavement, wandering when taking off from stop going thru shifting gears moving from right to left then back to straight then going back to the right every time on shifting. At 75,000 miles the warranty ran out and up to that time "none" of the companies figured it out nor fixed it. We were told that the lemon law didn't apply. So now at 80194 miles it's so bad that it's untrustworthy and it's getting worse by the day. I can't find anybody to fix it especially now that the warranty is out and the only place that we can trade it is back at tob which we will never buy another product from them. I have all the receipts for all repairs made that did not fix it. So we are stuck. Can't fix it nor trade and get a good price for it.
Vehicle exhibits "jeep death wobble". Frequent violent steering wheel vibration after jeep hits a bump or uneven road conditions at highway speeds.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 ford f-250. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle began to shake uncontrollably right to left. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
It is known on the internet as the "death wobble. " while traveling around 70 mph in dry conditions on i-185, the truck hit a small bump in the road coming off a bridge. The truck shook violently until i pulled over. I had difficulty controlling the vehicle as i was being tossed about and had difficulty even holding onto the steering wheel. It happened again 10 miles later. The vehicle has less than 30,000 miles and is well maintained included front end alignments, brakes and tire rotations.
HERE IS A 2020 Tesla Model 3 IN THE JUNKYARD. HTTPS://WWW.IAAI.COM/VEHICLEDETAILS/39123018?TENANT=US&ROWNUMBER=1 THE FRONT SUSPENSION HAS FALLEN TO BITS. THE WHEEL IS DISPLACED BACKWARD SO THAT THE TIRE IS RUBBING AGAINST THE FRAME AND THE BATTERY. THE TREAD ON THAT TIRE IS WORN AWAY WHICH IS AN INDICATION THAT IT WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE FRAME WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL DRIVING AND BEFORE THE WHOLE SHEMOZZLE TURNED TO FECULENCE. THIS IS NOT GOOD. THIS IS NOT GOOD AT ALL. IF IT IS NOT TOO MUCH BOTHER FOR YOU WOULD YOU MAKE INQUIRIES INTO WHY TESLA CHOOSES TO MAKE SUSPENSION COMPONENTS OUT OF CHEESE. THANK YOU. KEEF
While accelerating and entering an interstate, i drove over a rough section of asphalt while merging into the driving lane, which resulted in my steering wheel and front suspension vibrating and shaking in a violent and dangerous manner. I had to immediately deaccelerate and pull off towards the shoulder in order to get it to stop. Researching forums and i learned that is being referred to as a "death wobble".
Suspension parts are rusting out fast i don't live in a salted road for black ice type of environment car only has 66k miles and ac pours fuel odors in the cabin interior materials are bubbling up fast even after uv treatments.
BACK IN DECEMBER OF 2020, EVERY TIME I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR BRAKE (WHEN COMING TO A STOP IN TRAFFIC) THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF. I WOULD GET A WARNING THAT THE CAR WAS IN BATTERY SAVE MODE AND THE STABILITRAK LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THE MORNING OF JAN. 12, 2021, IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE 322. I BLOCKED RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE CAR STARTED BACK UP. WHILE THIS WAS HAPPING NOTHING ON THE CAR WORKED. IT BLOW OUT COOL AIR AND THE RADIO AND WINDOWS DIDN'T WORK. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. NOT JUST FOR ME AND MY FAMILY BUT OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. I DID TAKE THE CAR TO BE SERVICED UNFORTUNATELY, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. INSTEAD OF RESTING ON THE BREAK IN TRAFFIC, WE PUT THE CAR IN PARK. YOU CAN SEE HOW THAT CAN BE PROBLEMATIC. IN ADDITION TO THAT, NOW IT SOUND LIKE SOME SORT OF LIQUID IS PASSING THROUGH WHEN I COME TO A STOP/PARK. FAST FORWARD TO WHAT HAS LEAD ME TO FILING A VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT, THIS EVENING MY SON WAS DRIVING ON US 22 WHEN HE CALLED ME IN A PANIC BECAUSE WHILE DRIVING A WARNING DISPLAYED ON THE DASH ENGIN POWER REDUCED, TRACTION LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE SPEED REDUCED TO ABOUT 20 AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I TOLD HIM TO PUT ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND PULL OVER02 AS SOON AS IT WAS SAFE. HE DID AS I SAID AS I WAITED ON THE PHONE WITH HIM. HE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND LET IT REST FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. THE CAR STARTED BACK UP WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. THE TRACTION LIGHT WENT OFF BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. HE MADE IT HOME WITHOUT ANY MORE INCIDENTS. AS I STATED ABOVE YOU CAN SEE HOW THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. I AM LEARNING THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A CHEVY Malibu (2016 64,763 MILES) WITH SAFETY ISSUES. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HOPE THAT NO ONE HAS TO LOSE THEIR LIFE BEFORE ACTION IS TAKING. THEY NEED TO RECALL AND GIVE A REFUND.
May 2019 vehicle went in had the steering column replaced due to a rubbing sound coming from inside the vehicle every time steering wheel was turned whether in town or highway or parked. Nov 2020 crash avoidance system activated while stopped at a light no one in front of me at the same time noise started coming from the front of the car (rattling) when turning left and when hitting bumps, it was determined that the motor mounts had become loose damaging the lower control arm, struts and after tighten they became loose again needed to be replace. This took them month and half to find the issue as well as replacing the crash avoidance system. The car still does not drive correctly nor does it align properly only slightly off in the front but way off in the rear. Since picking the vehicle up 2 weeks later the steering column is made a pop sound and has started making the same rubbing noise when turning. I bought it new no accidents to date. Hyundai is repurchasing the vehicle. Very slow process not to mention concerned with the steering wheel locking up as seen here.
Nissan Altima 2017 LOUD RATTLING FROM PASSENGER REAR SUSPENSION. VIBRATION OR TRAVELING OVER BUMPY CONDITIONS WOULD CREATE RATTLE NOISE. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 16,000 MILES AND DEALER STATED THAT BOTH REAR SHOCKS NEED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER RESEARCHING MULTIPLE NISSAN FORUMS HAVE DISCOVERED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM NOT ONLY WITH ALTIMA MODELS BUT WITH MAXIMA AS WELL. DEALER STATED DUE TO YEAR IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND RECEIVED REPAIR ESTIMATE FOR OVER $800. DEALER CHARGED $50 FOR DIAGNOSTIC EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. HAD SHOCK MOUNT KIT REPLACED ON PASSENGER SIDE AT ANOTHER REPAIR FACILITY FOR LESS THAN $200. LOUD RATTLE IS NOW GONE BUT SHOCK WAS NOT REPLACED AND IS STILL MAKING SOME NOISE OVER BUMPY CONDITIONS. DRIVER SIDE IS CURRENTLY NOT MAKING ANY NOISE BUT PROBABLY WILL FAIL EVENTUALLY. CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY WOULD NOT CREDIT ME FOR REPAIR COST I INCURRED AND WOULD ONLY COVER HALF OF THE COST IF I TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER TO HAVE BOTH SHOCKS REPLACED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED BY NISSAN DUE TO HIGH FAILURE RATE ON PARTS WITH MINIMUM MILEAGE. THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 100% OF COSTS.
If a bump is hit around highway speeds there is uncontrollable shaking of the steering wheel and loss of control of the vehicle. Commonly called "death wobble" i am told. This renders the vehicle unusable as it is not safe. Ford says they believe a steering dampener replacement may fix the issue but have no parts in stock, no option for outside parts, and no eta for availability.
At high speeds 65 plus when a bump is hit the front of truck and steering starts shaking violently and doesn't stop until you slow down to below 20 to get it to stop. This violent shaking in the steering/front end can cause lose of control and having to slow to such a slow speed on interstate can cause accident and injury to self and others. This has happened several times with last event yesterday at which time a semi truck almost rear ended me.
