The contact owns a 2015 audi q7. The contact stated while refueling the vehicle, the fuel gauge failed to properly indicate that the fuel tank was full. The contact continued refueling the vehicle, and fuel started spilling from the filler neck. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump flange. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to nhtsa campaign number: 17v298000 (fuel system gasoline). The vin was included, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to assist. The contact was informed that the vehicle had been repaired by the previous owner. The failure mileage was 60,000.
Continually having to add a quart of oil to the vehicle and rear tail pipes have turned soot black from oil burning out the tailpipe. I purchased the vehicle and i was having to have the oil changed a lot. Then i noticed that the oil light was on every 500-1000 miles and i was constantly having the oil changed. I researched and the oil should not be changed that often. I took to dealership twice to no avail. I took it back with the same issue. They kept the vehicle almost three months and told me that motor would have to be torn down and if warranty didnt pay i would have to pay over 15,000. 00 for a new engine. I dont have that kind of money for an engine and engines should last over 100,000 miles. The warranty company advised that if engine was torn down and itis an audi problem they would not pay (they advised that audi have this burning oil problem and they won't cover damages) and audi will not take responsibility for the problem that is inherent in the engine and will not repair the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 audi q7. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, there was a fuel and exhaust odor entering the cabin of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the odor was more prominent in colder weather and the failure had occurred intermittently while the vehicle was idling. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.
On or about september 19, 2023, i was driving to work when all of a sudden, while i was driving, i received 2 error codes: 1) electrical system maintenance malfunction; and 2) vehicle starting system malfunction. I proceeded driving to work, and when i got there, no problems arose. I contacted audi dealership to inquire about the problems, as i had only bought the vehicle maybe 2 months prior. I was informed that the vehicle cannot be driven, and i need to have it towed to the dealership immediately, as the car would more than likely breakdown and i would be stranded. I started researching the issue and discovered that this is an ongoing issue that has been happening for quite some time. Apparently, audi has been aware of this issue for years, and has failed to inform consumers or customers because they do not have the parts in stock to do a formal recall. As of this moment, my car is still at the dealer, and i am awaiting confirmation that the issue is the issue with the alternator as it relates to the battery, which is faulty. I have been informed that audi is aware of the issue and the part has been on back order for quite some time. It could be weeks, if not months, for them to have the part needed to fix the vehicle. I do not have a loaner yet, and getting one has been an extreme pain and inconvenience, but it appears that audi will do nothing to recall this problem due to the part shortage. I am grateful i discovered the problem when i did, and it did not cause any harm to me or anyone i know. However, there are so many cars still on the road that this will affect, and it is a safety concern that should be looked into further.
The contact owns a 2017 audi q7. The contact stated that the passenger’s side front marker light defective message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v642000 (electrical system, exterior lighting). The contact was informed that the repair would not be covered under warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was referred to the nhtsa for assistance. The vehicle remained in the dealer's possession and was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Audi Q5. The contact stated that while driving his vehicle, a start/stop malfunction warning message appeared on the display screen. Once the contact made it to his destination, the vehicle failed to turn off after repeatedly pushing the start/stop button. The next day, the failure persisted and the vehicle was taken to a dealer where a diagnostic was performed. The diagnostic showed that water had traveled from the sun roof drains into the rear left panel and into the vehicle's wiring module. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
The contact owns a 2012 audi a6. The contact stated while pulling out of the driveway, he smelled an abnormal fuel odor. The contact stated that the fuel odor became stronger while driving 65 mph. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he pulled into a parking lot and opened the hood. The contact stated that he noticed that the fuel odor was coming from the engine. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the check engine warning light illuminated. The mechanic determined that the check engine warning light had illuminated due to low pressure on the fuel rail, and the contact was informed that the supercharger needed to be removed for a more thorough inspection of the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v019000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer referred the contact to the nhtsa hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
Car worked fine with no signs of any issues or concerns. I stopped at a light and the car turned off as the start-stop system normally does. However when the light went green, the car would refuse to start flashing "Steering Malfunction, Do not drive"... I'm at a light on a highway, what do you mean "do not drive"! The power steering was completely lost and it seems because of it, the entire system would refuse to allow the car to even start. The car had to eventually be pushed off the highway after causing an incredible amount of traffic and then towed. I contacted Audi and they appear to know about this issue, however will only warranty a very specific fault code, and will not honor any other faults in the system or any car that doesn't have a perfect history. Estimated cost to repair this absurd faulty steering rack according to online sources is almost $4000. Audi even recalled this system on they're higher package cars like the SQ5 but still wont recall this system in the Q5 line up.
The system warning keeps coming on, i’ve tried to schedule appointments with audi since 2022 and they have zero appointments available
Having taking the car in for routine service at the audi dealership, it was discovered that the right rear spring and lower perch were not in correct position. I had the car inspected by an auto body shop and was told that the perch is hanging down and the spring has tipped sideways. I am having the car flat bedded to the dealer in hyannis and the next available date on the schedule for the car to be repaired is 9/26/23. I was advised not to drive the car by the dealership until the repairs are made.
