The chasis function is limited on this vehicle due to failed right rear air suspension. Leaking right rear strut, and failed air compressor. Additionally, as a result my car needs an alignment. There was a service bulletin in regards to this exact issue in which bmw offered an extended warranty to repair vehicles free of charge up to 8 years/80,000 miles (mc-10215743-9999. Pdf) my vehicle is currently at 92,000 miles but within 8 years. I never received the notification. If i would have i could of had the vehicle inspected and fixed within the extended warranty time frame. I'm being told that bmw will not cover the cost because my vehicle is outside of the timeframe they agreed upon in the settlement. The cost is $ 8600. 00. This incident is the second issue i've faced. I purchased the vehicle certified from a bmw dealership. The initial problem i faced was with a failing braking system that was fixed through warranty after multiple trips to the dealership. I was at risk of the vehicle not stopping which could have resulted in a terrible accident. Now with this second issue i'm again at risk for my safety. Bmw should be held accountable for producing vehicles with such safety concerns and at minimum be responsible for the cost to repair these issues.

There are two grill shutter actuators. One for the upper and one for the lower. Different part numbers. Nhtsa issued a tsb for n63r in 2019: mc-10160279-9999 (g12 (n63r)/g30 (b58m) radiator grill upper and lower active air flaps: limited warranty extension to 10 years/120,000 miles). My vehicle is a n62r and there are hundreds perhaps thousands of reports of the identical part numbers from brose manufacturing (usa / germany) failing. For example, my upper failed in apr 2023 after a repair i paid for in sep 2022 with a p/n manufactured in 2021. Then, the lower actuator failed which has a manufacture date of 2017 (so it is the oem part). Though the upper actuator is coded to remain open on fault, the lower is for some reason coded to remain closed on fault. If the fault codes are incorrectly interpreted by the [xxx] when the vehicle is in operation, then the engine could quickly overheat and lead to major issues for the occupants, but likely result in thousands of dollars of engine repairs. I urge you to reconsider the tsb and issue a recall/warranty extension for all bmw g11/12/30 and similar (in fact, this part is used on all series with upper and lower shutters: 5, 7 and x from 2015. ) the main problem i am having is that there are no parts in stock at bmw worldwide. [xxx] has not responded. Thank you. “information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6). ”

The check engine light stays on because of the defective wire harness. It was made of very low quality and i feel strongly this is a major safety defect and needs to be rectified. Nhtsa should initiate a vehicle recall because of this.

Front driveshaft between transfer case and front differential, is available upon request. The driveshaft broke at the universal joint, once it broke it damaged the upper and lower oil pan making a hole the size of a softball, as it kept rotating broke transmission casing also draining oil from transmission and engine components. It caused the tires to get soaked in oil and slip and spin out. Luckily no cars or objects were near me at the time, if there were this would have been a big safety concern to the driver and passenger of the car. No warnings were given by this component before it failed, 5 seconds after failure the low oil pressure warning came on, this was after the vehicle spun out. The has been inspected by an independent service center and will be inspected by the insurance company.
