This was struck in the rear at the stop light.
Bmw has a voice assistant "bmw assistant" which i have turned off. I verified the setting through a call today with kingsley of the bmw genius hotline, 844-443-6487. The problem i am experiencing is that although turned off, the assistant keeps trying to turn itself on by asking permission which i am driving. One has to either press a button or repeatedly speak to it to try and stop its message. Not only irritating, but it happens during turn by turn navigation and causes distracted driving. , i came close to having a collision a couple of times when this happened. Note that kingsley confirmed that it would continue to occur in the future at random times and there is no way to turn it off. I am assuming at this time it is just a way to try and collect more information to sell. If the assistant tried to do this when the car is started and stationary, while still irritating, there would be no distracted driving. This a a problem waiting to happen. The vehicle has started displaying an error message when parking stating to secure the vehicle against rolling. This is due to a very common issue with a spring in the shifter needing to be replaced. Based on what i have read, the spring issue is occurring in almost all 2016 and 2017 bmw x1's. This should be a recall and not a $3k repair bill.

This vehicle was rear ended with rear frame damage. The airbag light stays on and the seat belt was ejected and lock. The seat now will not extend to fit and latch. My wife completed all required maintenance with the bmw dealer prior to the accident. This is frustrating since we paid a lot of money over the years to maintain the car and we expect nothing less, but a safe vehicle for my wife. Was driving down the highway at 70 mph when my sunroof suddenly exploded. There was no damage to the sunroof prior to the explosion and there was no outside object that fell onto the sunroof that could have caused it to explode. Thankfully i had the liner closed on the inside of the vehicle and i did not have the glass shatter on to me physically. However, if the liner had not been closed there could have been physical damage to myself and possibly caused me to have a motor vehicle accident. I took my vehicle to the dealership and the technician informed that he has at least 4 bmw vehicles per month with sunroof explosion. I also contacted bmw usa and notified them of the incident, and they stated there was no open recall on my vehicle. As stated before i feel this is a huge safety issue that warrants further investigation.

Rear passenger door bouncing back when closing and now passenger rear door doing exactly same thing. If it happens you have to drive while holding door closed trying not to fly out into traffic.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened.
