While driving both in regular traffic and highway traffic the car has without warning gone into a limp mode shuddering allowing no power at all to the accelerator. A message pops up "drivetrain malfunction maximum drivetrain output not at available. If you get pulled over turn the vehicle off wait a couple minutes turn the ignition back on the vehicle runs like that never happened. This is extremely dangerous if the vehicle goes limp no power while on the freeway in front of a big 18 wheeler it happened to me the other vehicles do not understand your vehicle just died while going 75 mph.
On march 22, 2021, i was parking my 2016 bmw gran turismo 328x at a parking garage. Ii had completed the initial turn-in, when the car felt like the accelerator had been pushed to the floor. The car went from approximately 5 miles an hour to about 20 mph in the length of a parking spot. The car hit the concrete barrier head on, with the side curtain, steering wheel and leg air bags deploying. The car was fully maintained and serviced by the bmw dealer with brand new tires. It had about 78k miles on it. The forward collision warning did not go off nor did the automatic braking occur. I asked the repair facility to check out why the car suddenly accelerated, but was told that accidents happen and that the car was totaled anyway. I did not press the accelerator? Accidentally?. I have had hundreds of hours of drivers training and evasive manuvering because of my job and do not make mistakes like that. I am grateful that no one other than i was hurt and that there was the concrete barrier to stop the vehicle. There was a police report made. The car has been totaled as there was more than 15k damage. Usaa has the car.
I have a 2015 bmw 328i with just over 40,000 miles. A few weeks ago i began experiencing a dash warning for a "left turn signal malfunction" however it was intermittent and would often go off when turning the car off and restarting. Then i began getting a "left brake light malfunction" warning as well. Sometimes i'd get one or the other. Sometimes i would get both. Always intermittent. Sometimes it would come on at engine start up. Sometimes while driving. It has now come on and is continuous. I purchased new bulbs hoping it would solve it although doubtful that the bulb was actually the problem. As it turns out, there was a malfunction within the pigtail connector and one of the prongs is burnt out. So i have no left rear turn signal or left brake light after some googling, i discovered this is a very common issue for this car. I am out of factory warranty but do plan to file a claim using my extended warranty. That being said, with the frequency that this issue seems to occur i am incredibly surprised that there has not been a recall issued.
There were multiple occasions (3 times last year and 2 this year) when driver side door latch failed to open the door. The immediate remedy is to unlock using the center console lock/unlock button. This is a dangerous situation esp. When a car gets in an accident or not reach button preventing safe escape. This has happened when car has parked and attempting to open door from latch. I ended up having the car fixed by dealer at steven creek bmw for $1200+ last week replacing cable/latch assembly. My 328i xdrive is barely 6 years old and feel that a mature platform should not prevent you from safely exiting your car.
Tl* the contact called on behalf of a client who owns a 2015 bmw 328i. The contact stated that while the vehicle owner was starting the vehicle, the vehicle loss power steering functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle owner had the vehicle towed to a. R. T. S. Auto service (1899 grand central ave, horseheads, ny 14845) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that corrosion caused the steering rack to separate and detached. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,115.
Valve cover seal failure. Smoke in compartment and in engine block
Fuel tank split at factory seam causing fuel to pour out of tank when full. This issue happened after filling tank and driving a short distance. When i came out to my car which was parked, i noticed a large puddle of gas under the driver's side of the vehicle.
Vehicle has under 30,000 miles and requires a new power steering module which includes the rack and pinion steering assembly, new computer programming and wheel alignment. The factory installed power steering assembly module is turning off and back on; when off there is no power steering assistance make if very difficult to steer the car especially at slower speeds. When the power steering comes back on and the vehicle is at speed it creates a very sensitive steering wheel which causes driver to over steer the vehicle. When making a sharp turn like when turning onto another street and the power steering is out the driver has to "muscle" the steering wheel to make the turn; if during that turn the power steering assist returns this causes the driver to over steer the car either into traffic or off the road. As of 10/07/2020 the power steering assist is completely out and the vehicle is not safe to drive.
Tl* the contact owns 2015 bmw 328i. The contact stated while driving at 40 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to bmw of roseville (500 automall dr, roseville, ca 95661) where a diagnostic test was performed on the vehicle and the contact was informed that the engine coolant thermostat needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The vin was not available.
This happened two separate times about 2 weeks apart.. The car was stopped at a stoplight. Foot on brake. Suddenly engine started revving and car leaped forward. Brake did not stop it. The second time, (august 31, 2020) the car reared-ended the car in front, possibly causing injury to that driver. Neither car was harmed.
2015 bmw 328. Consumer writes in regards to power train safety recall. *ld the consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time completing the recall repair. The consumer referenced recall 20v185000. The consumer requested to be reimbursed the car payments for the months the vehicle was not in use. *js
Bracket used to hold emergency brake line to panel snapped and now brake line is running up against the drive shaft which could cause cable to snap. This seems to be wear and tear as nothing happened to the vehicle to have this happened. Multiple people have reported this happening to 2014-2016 vehicles and seems to be a similar issue that happened on recall of the 2001 m3.
Thermostat is repeatedly sticking in open position. Vehicle has less than 75,000 miles. *tr
The vehicle was moving at 30 mph when instepped on the breaks and it kept moving. I took it back to the dealership where i bought it they fix the break. Theo days ago i was prompted with the same problem.
My 2015 bmw 328i left turn signal and left brake have malfunctioned for some months now. I have replaced the bulbs and its not working. I know it has to be some electrical problem. There are many know issue like mine but there is not a recall for my model bmw.
Driver's door and front passenger's door will not open with the interior door lever. This is an intermittent problem that can happen once a month or once a week. Lock knob on the door pops up and then back down when using the lever. The only way to unlock the door is to press the dash door lock button. This is extremely dangerous as all bmw's have an automatic battery disconnect in the event of an accident; therefore there would be no way to exit the vehicle! I spoke to the local bmw service agent and he said they knew of the problem but it was not covered by bmw. This should be a safety recall!!!!!
I pulled into my long narrow driveway (about 100 feet) slowly at about 3 mph. I let the car go by its momentum and lightly pressed on the brake so it could come to a complete stop. When the car approximately about 7 feet from the front of the garage, it accelerated suddenly and smashed through the front door and part of the garage. I put more pressure on the brake, but it kept going and hit the back wall before the engine shut off. The airbags did not go off. I reported the incident to the police and my insurance, and the insurance declared the car was total loss and they towed it away.
Engine revved uncontrollably without my foot on the gas pedal, i was forced to shut the engine off. The car behaved normally once the engine was restarted: i was turning left into a parking space in a parking lot at a very slow speed. My foot was off the gas pedal as i was braking and coming to a stop. Suddenly (with foot still on the brake and not the gas pedal) the engine revved to a high rpm which lurched the car forward a bit. Since i was already braking, i was able to react quickly and press down even harder on the brake pedal, which stopped the vehicle and kept it in place. The engine continued to rev and i shifted into park. The engine stayed revved at very high rpms as if i was flooring the gas pedal, even though i could look down and confirm that my foot was only on the brake. At this point i shut off the engine and waited several minutes. I checked the floor mat and confirmed that it was not out of place or affecting the pedals in any way. I then started the engine again and the car idled normally with no issues. I tested driving at a slow speed and pulled into several more parking spots to see if the issue would reoccur, but it did not. I drove home normally and parked without further problems, and will be taking the car to a mechanic as soon a possible.
My 2015 bmw 328i x drive left turn signal and left brake have malfunctioned since i bought the car. The same thing happen in my mother? S bmw 328 series as well and a recall was open. There is a open recall on the brake light and turn signals but not for my actual vehicle. I have replaced the bulbs so i know it is something electrical. Bmw refuses to fix the problem although it is a known recall! I am very disappointed, and just want my light panel repaired as this is a safety issue by bmw manufacturers not the owner.
Intermittently it is not possible to open the doors from the inside of my vehicle using the door handle.. The door remains locked and will not open from the inside by pulling the door handle. The only known workaround is to find the "unlock all doors" button on the dashboard to unlock the doors and it's not clear that this is a viable solution for all cases. Here is a video of the issue: https://www. Youtube. Com/watch? V=v7_ubsgjtqq this is a widespread issue for the f30 generation of bmw passenger cars ( 2011? 2019). What i 'm trying to understand is: how is something this critical to safety (being able to exit the vehicle, especially in an emergency) not subject to a recall or a at the very least a tsb? I was told that this repair for my vehicle which is just outside of the factory warranty would cost over $1000. See the following search results from google for an idea for how widespread this issue is: https://www. Google. Com/search?
