2024 Buick ENCORE GX
  • Date of Incident: Oct-27, 2023
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-26, 2024
  • Failed components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER

The virtual cockpit unit on my buick encore gx st 2024 keeps intermittently blackout at vehicle startup and or while driving. When this happens while driving, i have no way of knowing the speed, gas level, and other important information that would be displayed on the cockpit screen. At times when the screen starts to go out, it starts to glitch (images on screen are distorted). When this happens, it become very distracting while driving. My concern is this vehicle is unsafe under these conditions. I have only had this vehicle since mid oct 2023. My vehicle has been serviced at the dealership on the above reported incident on 10/31/2023, second time on 12/13/2023, and the third time on 3/21/2024. I keep getting my car back thinking that the issue is fixed, and only to find out that it is not.

2015 Buick Enclave

  • Failed components: AIR BAGS and SEAT BELTS

I was in a car accident on 10/31/2023. The air bags did not deploy and the seat belt (pretensioners) did not engage as a result of this high impact force. Esis- general motors inspected the vehicle and provided the crash data retrieval report, attached. There were no problems prior to the accident.

2011 Buick LUCERNE
  • Date of Incident: Feb-21, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-23, 2024
  • Failed components: SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, and SUSPENSION

Several malfunction indicator lights in dash appeared suddenly. Car would not start after shutting off. Finally started and drove to repair shop. Diagnosed as faulty ride height sensor. Shop searched for part at several dealers and online and found the part was discontinued in 2021. I contacted buick and was offered $1500 off on a new gm car. I have not received any suggestions on how to repair the car or remove malfunction indicator lights which i specifically asked for. The repair shop is waiting for me to find the part and i have not been able to find one. Dealers have no answer and neither does buick. The repair shop says it will start if sensor is unplugged but suspension will not work and dash will still have malfunction indicator lights. It is my opinion to operate under these conditions, it would definitely be hazardous.

I am writing to express my alarm as to the length of time it is taking to resolve a safety recall ([XXX]) on my 2016 Buick Enclave. The recall was issued in May of 2023 and 10 months later, still no fix. It gives me great pause to be driving this vehicle whose driver's front airbag could shoot projectiles into the cabin if deployed. It even states in my recall letter that this could be deadly. Recalls need to be resolved in a timely manner, and I do not feel that a 10 month wait is timely. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
