Engine needed to be replaced as part of the recall for knock, however they said because the repair was done on a subsequent work order and the first one was for a failed aeb module that none of the repairs are covered. I'm out over $13,000 for what should have been warrantied
The contact owns a 2017 Kia Soul. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The vehicle was restarted however, the failure reoccurred. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the alternator and determined that the catalytic converter was overheating. The alternator was replaced, but the independent mechanic declined to repair the catalytic converter. The contact was advised to consult with the dealer about the catalytic converter repair. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V120000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 106,000.
Driver side wiper gets stuck and won’t wipe in intermittent mode. Sporadically stops in auto mode.
The engine was has blown twice the first day 95000 miles and again at under 6000 miles. And there is still a bad knock and major vibration and ticking noise coming from the car. We told the car we no longer have faith in this car and didn't want it no more and all he did was see if he could get us another loan to trade it in. We're now scared to really ride in to and can't get no one to help us on this my man is about to lose his job over this car
The rear self adjusting shocks do not work - the smallest bump jolts anyone in the car, even at the slowest speeds (10 mph), nothing works to keep bumps from feeling like there are no shocks at all or they are frozen (and i am accustomed a jeep wrangler's rough ride). My son has an lvad implanted in his chest, attached to his heart that keeps his heart pumping, and every ride to the doctor is like the car is trying to yank the lvad off his heart, causing him great pain. I can't stop the car from hurting him!! The dealer replaced the cap on the shock but it did nothing to help. I have another appointment, they admitted there were problems with the shocks, and my car isn't even included in the tsb!!! They fit me in for an appointment in october but said they had received word the manufacturer might be going to try something else. The problem first started being really noticeable at the beginning of 2023.
Aug. 5, 2023: ca steering wheel locked when trying to change lanes. Managed to turn left but went over the curb. It drove well when going straight but could not turn steering wheel. Glad i didn't go on the freeway. Managed to stop but didn't turn off car due to too hot outside. Called towing, then a family member told me to turn car off, hesitant due to weather, too hot. It worked. Towtrk driver checked under hood and saw no problem. I then drove to dealership and left it there to diagnose. It is till in shop 6wks. It is the steering wheel wiring i am told. Now waiting for a part. Maybe this week. Love the kia but it did me wrong. Cannot trust it anymore. That is too bad it is an awesome vehicle to me except for the problem. Warning came on as incident happened. Manufacturer personnel inspected. Happy no accident just fear of not being able to manage steering easily. I drive a curvy and high altitude road. That really scares me n for any passangers.
I took my Sorento to an automotive center because the paint is peeling off on 2 areas and I wanted to have it painted. I was told there’s a problem with the primer that was used by Kia. They said the same problem is happening with other manufacturers such as Toyota and possibly Hyundai and those companies have a recall on their vehicles. He told me to check for a recall but I see there isn’t one yet. I checked some Kia Sorento reviews and there are several Kia owners who are having the same issue. So I wanted to make you aware of the problem and hopefully with enough vehicles with the same problem a recall will be issued. I attached photos. Thank you!
While driving , the power steering went out making steering very difficult and unsafe. A multitude of warning lights flashed on and off. Several warning icons were subsequently sent to our hone app for a period of 10 days while the car was parked and we were in hawaii. There is an obvious issue with the computers electrical systems that effect safe driving and continue to send false warnings to the app. This steering electrical issue will hurt someone if not fixed.
The car was stolen
Car will not go pat 60mph and i haven’t had this car just over 6 months. And the camshaft sensors are gone out. Smoke comes out the pipe when mash on gas…. It is really a bad vehicle. And southeast auto refuses to fix it. I really honestly think the motor is bad in it. Because i been having issues with it since i had it
