Consumers have filed a total of 17,010 complaints related to POWER TRAIN.
At roughly 77,500 miles our engine starting misfiring both while stationary and in motion. The check engine light came on. We pulled code p0305, indicating cylinder #2 misfire. We replaced the coils and spark plugs and the engine continued to misfire. We then began hearing fluid moving behind our dash board and noticed that the coolant tank was low but no visible coolant leak was found. We took the car to a local ford dealer's service center (woodhouse ford - omaha, ne) for inspection and diagnosis. They confirmed that engine coolant was leaking into cylinder #2, causing the misfire. It was also leaking into the heating element, causing a putrid smell in the cab of the vehicle and the rushing fluid sound behind the dashboard. They confirmed this is related to ford tsb 19-2346. Ford stated that the repair requires a $6300 replacement engine and they are not liable for the damage to the engine as a result of their defect. Per the tsb, this engine defect may result in engine fires but fortunately it did not get to this point for us.
I HAVE A 2017 Ford Escape 67,338 TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER (GALPIN FORD) MY COMPLAIN WAS THAT MY TRANSMISSION WHEN WARM REVERSE GEAR IS HARD TO ENGAGE AND WILL NOT GO OVER 55MPH. GOT A CALL BACK THAT IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. FORD REFUSED TO HELP ON ANY WAY TO FIX IT, ALMOST $6,000.00 TO REPLACE A TRANSMISSION WITH 67K ON IT, WHY IS FORD COMPANY NOT HELPING CUSTOMERS WITH THIS PROBLEM, WHAT IS REALLY BAD FOR ME IS THAT I HAVE 2017 FORD TRANSIT THAT HAS THE SAME TRANSMISSION. I HOPE FORD IS NOT WAITING FOR SOMETHING BAD TO HAPPEN BEFORE THEY FIND A FIX FOR THIS.
Driving down the highway i pressed down on the brake the car was not stopping while the brake peddle went straight to the floor.
Cvt transmission is jerking, stalling, shuddering, and hesitating while driving. Car only has 65k miles. Issue has been happening randomly for about a week. I do not feel comfortable driving in the car anymore because i feel that this malfunction can eventually cause an accident.
After putting the car in park and turning it off a? Shift into park? Message displays on screen leaving the car still on. Very dangerous when i always have my 3 kids with me at all times. We have to keep messing with it until it goes away before we can safely get out and feel confident its ok to leave the car.
Car has issues when accelerating car sputters and shifts while driving also when parked if put in reverse gives hard jerk into gear when i looked up shows transmission issues where common in this model of vehicle.
Experienced turbocharger failure when coming to a stop after getting off the interstate after approximate 2. 5 hours of driving. Engine died as car slowed down so suspect the turbos failed while driving but ram air from interstate speeds was adequate to maintain the engine until it slowed down. The extended run time with failed turbos resulted in metal fragments in the oil so after inspection, the engine was replaced under an extended warranty with a used engine. This engine has approximately 58k miles on it and i think the replacement engine had 11k or so on it. This occurred on dec 26th, 2019. This past february, 2021, noted an odd whistle sound from the turbo but no warning lights and slightly sluggish acceleration. The following day it seemed to run fine on my way to work but on the way back it ran rough and then died so i had to steer off the road into a parking lot as i lost power steering. Further investigation determined that one turbocharger had completely failed (the turbine wheel was completely sheered off) and the other had excessive play in the shaft. The 75k factory maintenance had just been performed in decker, 2020, as had the 65k maintenance earlier in the year. Since the replacement engine was no longer covered under a used parts warranty or my extended warranty, the cost of turbo replacement was entirely out of pocket. I also had to pay for some extra work on the first engine replacement due to discovery of extra work required for the swap that wasn't in the initial quote to the extended warranty company.
After getting the fca emissions modification pushed out by ram/fiat, i have lost about 20-25% gas mileage and power in the truck. The modification has ruined a great truck. Truck is now dangerous because of a lag and lack of power. Mod was installed in summer of 2019 and truck is now ruined.
Bought brand new. At 32k miles (4months after 30ktune up) engine light came on. Took to earnhardt kia in phx. Who initially stated there was? Something broken in the transmission? After a few hours they then stated the car had? Internally overheated and there was combustible gases in the radiator. The thermostat never indicated overheating. Coolant reservoir was bone dry (after filling it the day before). After 31 days at kia a new head gasket was put on.. Though i was told the car was getting a new engine. I asked the dealer on each call... What about the transmission whereas i was told koa would make sure everything would be fixed before returned. Car was returned to me on 2/21. On 4/1 after driving 380(+/-) miles from phx to san diego to see my marine deploy, the car began to surge, rpms skyrocketed and car barely made it up hill. Surging continued, until it began to slip and i pulled off the road and into a shopping center. Car towed to escondido kia who kindly gave me a loaner. Now back in az, i am told that when it? S fixed, transport to me is unlikely and if approved kia does not guarantee against any damage during transport. Its a new car! Due to medical needs here, driving 6. 5 hours there and then back just isn? T feasible. Kia doesnt care. I will be out of this car asap and you can bet my next will not be a killer kia!
Saw online shows there a recall on the transmission on model 2014-2015. My van has the same issue on the transmission. Its defendtly qualify. But base on my vin number its not qualify. Still park infront of my house, something is gone wrong. Checked with a mechanic. They mentioned that there should be a recall on my van. Nhtsa campaign number is 16v529000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD EXCESSIVE VACUUM PRESSURE. THE FUEL TANK NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V845000 (POWER TRAIN) AND 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
I took a rd trip and downloaded root just to track my adventures and maybe side with quote offered. I? Ve been tracking miles since i got the car! Listening to its functions. There? S something off for sure. The hr ride there with speed performance was ok. The night rd back on hwy was the ultimate mind shifter for an indication of the gears not properly shifting and picking up speed. As i road about 70mph i left laned to pass vehicles slowing on right. As i accelerated to pick up speed it topped off at 80! I continued to press gas petal slowly down till reached floor then i slowed and got back in the rt lane! Cruised it down to about 50 and put it in standard! 5th gear and sped up till gear change and put in 6th gear for ride. It did not puck up speed as it should? Ve and it still stalled at 80!!!!!! There? S more to this on small notes and i know something is off! I? M no crash dummy! The 2018 kia doesn? T smoothly accelerate either from a stopped point. Acts as if there? S horse power with easing on the gas from a stopped point. Also with a/c on driving it makes a wired noise after awhile. That happened twice where i turned it off. When manually driving it? S like riding in standard without upshifting with the stick. Feels like i have to let off gas for it to properly change gears then accelerate. It? S like the car does what it want and i have to work with it! That? S scary! I haven? T had the vehicle over a month! I told dealership where bought it from and they said if no lights came on there? S pretty much nothing. Car doesn? T even have 70,0000 miles on it!!! I? D hate not to prevent something seeing i explained this!
With no warning my car completely stopped working, no engine light ever came on, my oil changes were up-to-date, and it was diagnosed with rod knock which is what everybody else on here is saying. How is there not already a recall on this year???
2019 under 40k miles had a bad starter. Would work occasionally, had to have it replaced.
I was filling up my gas tank, the automatic stop on the gas pump never shut off. Gas began spilling out of my car onto the ground. I placed the gas pump back and attempt ed to start my car, my car started but shut off right after signaling my oil was low. I just got my oil changed a week before. My car is now at the shop and i am out of pocket to fix this issue. This was a brand new car and it continues to stall and won? T hold a charge. After searching this issue it seems to be a common issue with this vehicle. Also i am told by the dealership that my warranty will not cover this issue.
Highway driving straight on level ground at 70mph. Hit gas to change lanes and van slowed to 55mph before it picked up speed again. 1300 miles later on same trip driving 60 mph up a small incline hit gas and van slowed down to 45mph before it picked up speed again. Two different honda dealers told me they couldn't help with this issue. 36,485 miles on van when first problem occurred.
The vehicle gives a? Shift to park? Warning on dashboard after vehicle ignition button. This warning shows up every time the vehicle is accepted to shut off. It takes several minutes and tries to get the message to go away and the vehicle to completely shut off. The only successful way of getting the message and vehicle to completely shut off is by wiggling or shaking the gear shifter until it goes away. I have been stranded with children in the vehicle for concerns that the vehicle will roll with the vehicle not registering that it is in park. After researching the vehicle issue further it has been found that other owners with the same year and model have had the same shift to park message and have had their vehicle roll on it? S own. The vehicle has gone to the dealership to be fixed but unfortunately because my warranty has expired i am being held responsible for paying to fix this safety issue.
After starting my car i went in my house to get something. My car slipped into reverse and rolled down my lawn across a busy street and hit a tree. The emergency braking system did not engage. I was able to drive the car back to where it was parked. I then tested to see if i could have accidentally put the car in reverse when i got out it. It began to roll in reverse and i wasn't touching the gas. I could not have gotten of the car if were in reverse because it would have been rolling. Apparently when the car is in a parked position it can slip into reverse.
The engine light has come on 3 times with a truck with only 9000 miles on it i took it to the dealership who gave me a code of p12a6 they told me chevrolet is aware of this problem but has not come up with solution yet or even wrote a program to reflash the computer. Now i have a paper weight in my driveway and being that i live in a dual town trying to find a dealership that will fix it and provide rental car or truck. This defect can be multiple reasons with the engine harness wires chaffing or torque converter or transmission plus the whole electrical system not cranking over the truck from what i was told last time. Now i? M waiting till 730 to call a dealership see if they have a roll truck to pick it up and get it to a dealership where they can try to fix this problem.
