  • Failed components: FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING and FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Often brakes abruptly. The first time the car was set at 60mph adaptive cruise control when the car abruptly braked to almost a stop on a divided four lane hwy. I reported incidents to audi cary & put my car in for service. They did not find diagnostic conclusion. After picking up my car the problem continues. While on adaptive cruise control set at 62 mph abruptly decelerates to 17, forcing driver to pull into right turn lane. Again on same afternoon car braked abruptly with another car following closely behind, the driver accelerated, there was a pause where braking stopped but car did not accelerate, then the car accelerated avoiding being hit from behind. The last two incidents i immediately call audi cary to report the problem. I now journal all episodes of malfunction.

There is an issue with this vehicle that seems to have been addressed by audi recall campaign 97cb (nhtsa campaign id 16v642000), however it does not apply to all affected vehicles. I bought the car used in 2020 with approx 35k miles on it. At about 55k miles, i began getting a warning on the dash that says “front (left/right) side marker light defective. See owners manual. ” it began with the left light only. I had the car inspected at an independent repair shop and there were no issues with the light. They thought maybe there was a wiring or sensor issue and suggested i check with audi for any open recalls. I called the audi dealer and explained the issue, they said there were no recalls and suggested replacing the headlight assembly for about $4k. I refused, and dealt with the warning. At about 75k miles, the right side has started coming on as well. I had it checked with the repair shop, and confirmed the light is working. My research has shown many others experience this issue, and audi is aware of it, but the recall only covered a small number of vin’s. The others have opted to get a re-programming device (obd-11) and disable the marker lights altogether. This will result in the side marker lights not being lit, meaning the car is less safe than intended. Please see if something can be done to add all affected vehicles to the audi recall so i can have this issue repaired and not compromise the safety of the vehicle. Thank you.

2017 audi q7 , issue is left marker light not working according to the dash computer, called audi , inspected and they said it works but is dimmer than the other side, so needs replaced. $6000.... Not doing that, called audi customer service and they would do a good will for less but still $4000.. I chose to just put up with it since it works and the dash light stays on all the time. Then months go by and now the right marker light not working, same thing. Works but the computer says it doesnt. This is a issue with audi and needs to be a recall. The warning light states left light out, then flashes and says the right light is out. Both lights work, but computer says it doesnt.. The dash light and the dinging noise needs to be a recall.

A very distracting warning about an issue with a front left side marker keeps popping up - on some rides multiple times in a minute! - and the only way to address it is, according to the dealership, to pay almost $7,000 to replace the entire headlamp assembly. It’s so distracting i do not permit the new teenage driver in our family to drive the car because i do not think it is safe. The visual is alarming and appears in the display immediately behind the steering wheel, so it is distracting. I think it makes a ping! Noise too, each time it appears. The car passed inspection because the light still works, there seems to be some other problem deep in the assembly that is causing the distracting warning. Given the cost and the safety issue from the distraction, i was surprised there is not a recall on this. So, i am reporting it now. Here is the information the dealership provided with the estimate: immediate attention upon inspection and diagnosing found left headlamp assembly is defective 450tu for headlamp replacement 350 tu for front camera calibration replace headlamp assembly is 6,973. 89

I am reaching out to raise a serious safety concern regarding the audi pre sense feature in 2023 audi models. This feature has caused sudden, unexpected braking on both freeways and internal roads, creating a significant hazard for drivers and passengers. There appears to be no permanent way to disable this feature, and its malfunction poses a critical risk of causing accidents rather than preventing them. I urge the nhtsa to investigate this issue and ensure that manufacturers provide a safe and reliable solution, including an option to disable the feature if needed.
