The seals on the factory headlight housings are faulty. They allow moisture into the low beam unit which blocks the light from projecting properly. The car is also safe to drive at night time.
The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the driver's side headlamp was brighter than the passenger’s side headlamp. The vehicle was taken to the residence and inspected. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
I recently notice that i had very little light on the low beam of my headlights. Cannot see the road unless on high beam. Dealership said it is a problem that they have had with the srx and have replaced so many 'headlight assembly's' that they now carry them in stock. Since you can't drive with the high beams on in traffic i feel this is a failure of the model and can only be fixed by replacement... Quote of $1750. 00.
The headlights are ineffective. It is like driving without headlights at night. Had bulbs replaced but did not improve lighting. Moisture on inside of windshield. On cold evenings the inside of the windshield is frozen. March 21, 2024 the tailgate will not open. It appears this is a common complaint with this vehicle caused by drainage from the sunroof leaking onto the module that powers the tailgate.
WE OWN A 2014 Cadillac SRX THAT WE PURCHASED IN 2019. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY AT NIGHT. OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AFTER SUNSET. THIS SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN RELAYED TO CADILLAC DEALERS AND TO CADILLAC CORPORATE BY THOUSANDS OF OWNERS BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE SINCE 2016. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF SEVERAL CLASS ACTIONS SUITS. THIS ISSUE ON OUR YEAR VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPORTED MORE THAN 300+ TIMES BY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS MODEL. NHSTA NEEDS TO COMPEL GM TO ISSUE A RECALL OF THIS SAFETY DEFECT OR INJURIES OR FATALITIES DUE TO THIS SAFETY DEFECT, WHICH IS WELL KNOWN TO CADILLAC WILL BE THE FAULT OF CADILLAC AND NHTSA.
Water makes its way inside the car. Drains seems to be clogged and interior carpet and roof gets wet. As a result lift gate will no longer open as water made its way to the back.
Passenger seat airbag light stays on all the time. Part to replace is no longer avaliable according to local cadillac dealer.
See attached document for complaint
Over time the headlight casings have moisture inside. Also, the plastic covering to the headlights is no longer clear but is cloudy. Driving at night i am forced to put on the high beams to brighten up the road ahead of me. Memphis cadillac dealership said there is a history of this problem. They will not work on the car because of this. Is there a recall? Please let me know. Thank you.
Low beam on headlights are too dim to see the road after dark. I have to use high beams to see but this may blind on-coming drivers. Don’t see how this is not a safety recall. Seems to be a common problem on these cars. Only had 59,000 miles when i first noticed the problem.
