This is an issue with chassis rigidity and a manufacturing defect. Causing windshield breakage due to torsional forces, chassis load and unload.   here's my case: 2023 dodge challenger r/t - 5. 7 / 6 speed manual. This car was purchased new 12/22/23, it's now broken two oem mopar windshields. First occurrence was 02/05/24 at 2,321 miles. This was warrantied by dodge and replaced with a new mopar windshield, 03/06/24. Second occurrence was 04/05/24 at 6,446 miles. At this point in time, my car remains unfixed, undrivable, and has been undrivable since 4/5/24. The selling dealer, airport jeep in platte city, missouri, has been "working" with a local frame shop to obtain an appointment for a laser frame check. At this point, we've been without the usability of a car, yet still paying for it, for over 30 days. Please see attached images regarding my case, alone. With that being said, i'm also attaching owner commentary and images of other 2023 challengers where this has occurred as well. The above, being said. This is clearly a chassis build / bonding issue at time of manufacturing, allowing these vehicles to flex and cause chassis popping / noises and windshield breakage. Uconnect lcd control screen is completely on the fritz due to adhesive de-lamination. The screen will frequently and randomly ‘ghost touch’ itself to turn the heat all the way up, turn the media volume all the way up, call contacts, adjust the clock, switch screens, etc while i’m driving. It is available for inspection upon request. Car has become a danger to drive as a result. Having to constantly fumble with the screen to not be roasted by the heat or have my eardrums blown out by max volume media while driving is significantly more distracting and dangerous than being on the phone while driving. It isn’t something that happens once or twice on a drive, it will touch the screen ~30 times a minute. This is a well known problem with uconnect systems in jeeps and dodges. You can look it up online or speak candidly with any dodge dealer. When i called dealers in my area directly they said this is a problem they see everyday. Vehicle is being taken to be inspected 6 days after reporting this event to uconnect and dodge as that is the earliest appointment they could get me at an approved service center. Absolutely 0 warning this would happen and no functional way to turn off the screen in the meantime. If you try to turn it off, when it senses it touched itself it just turns right back on. I’m being required to pay $300 out of pocket + costs for a rental to get the diagnosis.

Passenger seat sliding mechanism not locking / latching properly. When coming to a stop the passenger seat will slide forward, sometimes an inch or two but sometimes further. This is a very well know issue i have discovered across multiple internet message boards and is due to inadequate slide bearings, and has been ongoing for years.

My car has come to a complete halt several times when i pressed the gas trying to get onto the speedway it will just have no power to it like it’s in neutral and i will have to hurry up and get over to the side and turn it back into park and then back into drive and pray that it goes. It doesn’t kick into gear like it should all the time my battery is always a hit or miss. I just spent $1000 on repairs and my power won’t even work. It’s an electric. And pray that it goes. It doesn’t kick into gear like it should alternator all the time my battery is always a hit or miss. I just spent $1000 on repairs and my power. Siri won’t even work. It’s an electrical nobody can get anything to fix it and now we’re out of state and it broke down again. It is so dangerous recently, the belt came off of it while i was driving and it caused liquids to explode and almost caused fire

I experienced a catastrophic timing chain failure despite prior recall work being performed by dodge that supposedly resolved their known timing chain issues with the 5. 7l hemi with automatic transmission. This failure occurred without any prior warning at a cruising speed of about 65 mph rendering the car undrivable. There were no warning lights, drivability issues, or signs of the impending failure. This is a well-maintained car with only 80,000 miles, never missing a required oil change and other maintenance tasks. Timing chains should not fail at such low milage - indeed, timing belts will last longer before they fail. This failure occurred on a major highway placing me and other motorists in danger from the car being unmovable and potentially causing a high-speed collision on a 70 mph highway. If this had occurred less than 0. 5 miles down the road, both shoulders of the roadway were closed due to road widening construction. A certified letter with pictures of the timing chain and timing chain guide failures with a receipt for associated repairs was sent the to the manufacturer in december 2023 but they have not given me the courtesy of a reply. The engine was replaced by an independent mechanic at an out-of-pocket cost of $13,217. 38 and the pictures were taken at that time by the repair shop.

The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights became inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the electrical box was melted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

There is a loud popping sound when i start my car. It sounds as if the car is back firing. The sound has been duplicated several times. The sound does not happen every time, but it has happened well over 100 times. I have taken it into the dealership, and they claim that the sound can never be duplicated. Also, when i place my car in reverse and then drive the backup camera screen remains on in after driving forward for more than 30 seconds. This is very hazardous because when looking at the screen i can still see what is behind me which is a huge distraction.

The passenger side seat does not return to the "home" position when the "easy entry" handle is used to enter the rear seat from the door opening (the vehicle is a 2 door). Therefore, the seat slams into the knees of the passenger seated behind the passenger causing injury. Therefore, after the rear passenger enters, when the front passenger tries to return the seat to its starting position, the seat slides along the rails all the way till it hits the final stops. This happens regardless of the starting position of the seat along the rails. So, for example, if the seat is adjusted to be all the way forward, once the easy entry handle is used, the seat will slide all the way back on the rails and will lock in the final position. The only exception seems to be if the seat back is returned to its home position first, prior to sliding the seat back. Even in that case, the seat still slides back further than its initial home position. If passengers aren't careful, the vehicle begins to move before the seat is locked into position, and now, with the full weight of the front passenger, the seat slides back and crashes into the knees of the passenger causing injury.

The lcd of the uconnect control panel has progressively continued to delaminated since about 12-18 months after purchasing. Recently it has become a driving hazard. It presses the screen at random, which has changed the engine performance mode while driving and engaged the manual transmission option while driving. It has made over 40+ phone calls in the past month and has dialed emergency sos services least once. I am now forced to repair the screen myself because no recall has been issued for defective lcd screens.
