I know this is a well known issue with these trucks. Have had issues with power steering not working at low speeds which they claim it’s do to low voltage. This has happened numerous times and then on may 3rd i went to back into my driveway off a busy state route with hills on each end of the road. Put my hazard lights on let three vehicles pass and then i turned the wheel and gave it gas soon as the truck got into the middle of the road it shut off. Everything stopped working no hazard lights for about 10seconds and then i had to put the truck into park turn ignition key off and then back on to restart the truck. Again this is all do to low voltage from what everyone else has said with the same issue. There are no warnings what so every even the voltage meter is fine and the truck doesn’t hesitate at all it’s like someone disconnected the battery. I’m sure there is a way for gm to reprogram the pc for the voltage drop. At least have something like radio go out or ac, heat other than the engine and entire electrical shutting off. Something like this is going to get someone killed and gm should be held accountable for these problems.

2018 gmc seirra 1500 8 speed transmission. Making unsafe conditions while driving transmission tends to make hard shifts, jerks, hesitation when moved into gear, gets worse when stopping momentarily at stop lights and then trying to accelerate vehicle will not move. Makes hard shift and jerks then will accelerate in an unsafe manner.

I bought truck brand new one week later the tailgate opened while driving and hit the trailer and destroyed the tailgate. So i bought a brand new tailgate and repaired truck. Few months ago it happened again all my tools flew out into the highway almost caused a major accident and destroyed my saw and tools got thrown all over the road. Last week it opened again and destroyed the new tailgate i bought. The dealer is aware, gmc is aware and no parts to fix it or does anyone want to help me just let me drive a truck that is so unsafe. It's all over the internet this issue people are saying there tailgate opens while driving and gmc made a statement saying they are aware but not helping me. Sold me a truck for alot of money knowing it's a major dangerous defect that can cause major damage and serious injury on the road.

In january 2024, i parked my truck in my garage and shortly after i smelled an electrical burning smell in our house. When i opened the garage, it had smoke throughout the garage and a very strong odor of electrical burning smell. I moved my vehicle outside and tried to find the source, but it was too strong to narrow it down, and the garage smelled like burnt electrical for days. I took the truck to a service shop and they could not find anything wrong at the time. Today, may 2024, i was having trouble getting my trailer lights working. Upon further inspection, i discovered the 7-way interface wiring harness on my vehicle had electrically shorted out and melted a hole in the plastic housing and left melted plastic on the truck frame. The tag on the wiring harness states tag #138359 7-way interface harness w/o 134971. I believe this electrical short/fire should be part of the nhsta recall 18e-014. That recall states those are aftermarket harnesses, but the harness on the vehicle in this complaint is original to the vehicle and was installed by the manufacturer. I plan to take the vehicle back to the dealer to have the harness replaced, but i am expecting pushback since the nhsta recall states this is only aftermarket harnesses.

Has happened three times. 1st and 2nd time driving down road towing trailer, rear wheels locked up for 12-15’ while driving 50-55mph. I had thought it was my trailer axel. Happened twice within 6 miles. 3rd time was 1 month later. Rear wheels locked up driving on interstate at 70-75 mph. I estimate that i traveled 1,800 miles between the 2nd and third incident. Vehicle is at the dealership getting inspected for repairs no warning lamps before, almost every warning light came on after incident if this happened on a wet, ice, snow or dirt road this could have caused a serious accident. It would also be bad in a curve. Dealer took for road test but did not have any luck recreating the issue. They checked the differential oil and it didn't have any heavy metals. They are going to take the differential apart to inspect it to verify. They checked my battery and said it needed to be replaced. Also a wheel speed sensor needed to be replaced.

The rear sliding window leaks water inside the cab every time it rains. With water getting into the cab the issue of mold has begun and that could be a serious factor to any children or adults that ride inside the cab of the truck. There is also rust issues that are notable under the rear seats of the vehicle. Water inside the cab can also interact negatively with any electrical components of the vehicle. I tried to get ahold of the dealer and they always say they don't have time to get my truck in. I have read that this has happened to other vehicles that are the same year and model and they just fix it with caulk which does not seem appropriate for a almost new vehicle. The vehicle has not been inspected. There were no warning lamps prior to this issue. A possible symptom was that my back up camera stopped working for a day right after a rain.

My truck only has 40,000 miles on it and has the 8 speed 8l90 transmission. The truck bucks hard and has majorly delayed acceleration, especially on the initial startup of the vehicle. At this point the torque converter is going bad as well as the transmission fluid temperature sensor as per my mechanic when hooked up to the computer. It is now causing a fluttering of the rpms, especially when the vehicle heats up after running for several minutes. It is severely impacting my fuel economy as well as my general safety when operation my truck. This is a known problem with this type of transmission but so far there has been no recall issued, only a class action lawsuit that i am having a hard time joining. It is going to cost me over $8000 for a new transmission and i don't really know where to turn at this point or what to do! Please make gm issue a recall for this known transmission problem that they put in millions of vehicles, all having similar problems as my own! Thank you!
