The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz e350. The contact stated that the panoramic sunroof was making a crackling sound as if it was about to fracture. The contact was concerned that the sunroof glass might fracture with impact with passengers seated inside the vehicle. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Very common problem on all mercedes - code p052e - second time on this car. Engine light, 2nd time on this car. Car is 2018 and has 45k miles. First time it was at 28037 miles. This is a major issue costing consumers $1500-$2500 to repair and needs a recall from manufacturer
Exhaust smells started coming through the air vents while driving, after the catalytic converter was changed. I discovered through my own inspection, that exhaust was leaking at the connection point between the catalytic converter and the turbocharger. The fumes were entering the airflow for the passenger cabin through the cabin air intake drain valve because it is in the engine compartment. I realized that this is pouring carbon monoxide into the cabin ventilation system.
Rear trunk lid seal leaking water in rear cargo compartment caused damage to fuel pump. I was driving on a main busy road when without warning the car shut off. The traffic light was about to change so the person behind me was slowing down luckily. There was no warning light, indicator or sound the car just stopped. It stopped in the middle of the road impeding traffic as it stopped near a 4- way intersection at a busy time of day. The car was towed to dealer after extensive examination it was found to be a leak in rear trunk seal. There was no visible damage to seal or water damage in cargo area. I was told this is problem know to mercedes as they have issued a bulletin on how to repair it. This has been happening for years without a resolution to this problem. I was told in my case it had been leaking over an extended amount of time and there was know way to discover it until the damage is done. I find that hard to believe that mercedes would not recall this and find a remedy before it results in a serious accident or death. A car stopping on busy road or highway with a fast speed of traffic following is a tragedy waiting to happen. I had no warning of the potential danger i was in until it happened. The damage it causes is around $1,600 for a rubber piece that gets loose and allows water to damage the fuel pump. And because that piece is not covered under extended warranty the burden is put on the owner which it unfair to say the least.
This concerns the rear view camera.. It operates sporadically, or intermittanally,first time inn didn't work as expected it blanked out and i hit a tree... As i backed up it did not show anything behind my car.... So i backed into a tree... Following that i made an appt. At mercedes dealer in newton nj. , explained what had happened, service manager stated he never heard of that problem, they checked it out and found no problem.... Approximately a 10 days later as i was backing up in driveway i backed into a pickup truck that was not seen on the screen.... My daughter was watching intently after prior crash.... Never did the image of the pickup show on the screen.. $5887. 00 in damage later to truck and nearly the same on my card called mercedes customer service? Got to their voice mail, left a message to return my call ,that it was quite important, a week later i still have not heard from them!!! I have chills when i think how this problem could manifest itself in aster parking lot, or more importantly in a school parking lot... A tragedy because of someone ignoring the problem... Hopefully your organization will not ignore this very real situation.... I never want to hear that something that is shown on google to be recalled hundreds of thousands of times is still occurring, i find it very disheartening that a $95,000 mercedes suv would continue since 2016 to have this recurring problem without being corrected. I'm sure there have been horrible instance of a child being injured or killed.... Please address this best you can. Filing complaint on behalf of my sister. She was driving on empty side street around 25mph and the car comes to an abrupt stop. Apparently part of the collision avoidance system, yet nothing in road, on road or in sight. If there was anyone behind her, they would have slammed into the rear end of her car.
Very strong gas smell inside the car when started and heat or air is turned on. I have done research and it is a common issue with this car. This is a very serious issue that can cause an engine fire with the gas leaking in the engine compartment.
My vehicle has a manufacturing defect that has been causing excessive tire wear and alignment issues. New tires are needed every 7k miles and the wheels will not stay in alignment. Strong gas fumes smell from vehicle when parked. Issue starts around 50k miles. No lights on dash or anything. Multiple people in forums online experience the same issue around the same mileage. Some say it's a leak from fuel lines to the fuel pump.
Crankcase ventilation system error - triggered a p052e code (pcv). This seems to be a common issue. This causes issues with the fuel mixture.
