Instrument cluster/panel flickers and goes completely dark stay dark/blackout the majority of the time. There is a recall for the year 2014 but only if manufactured between july -august. Ours manufactured in october. This has been an on and off occurrence since maybe 2018 when we took it to the dealer early on it didn’t happen so they couldn’t address it. However it is off more than on and we have seen the recall. The blackout restricts our ability to see and monitor gages.

The abs and traction control lights come on and off intermittently. It’s a known issue that can cause complete loss of breaks. It’s linked to the 2017 and 2018 ram trucks and is all over the internet as being a problem. It’s a safety issue and needs to be taken care of immediately before someone dies or kills someone else because of an issue dodge ram has known about since 17-18.

My truck has 22,780 miles on it. This truck is currently in the shop having the fifth abs module, abs control and abs hydraulic unit. The first time that this occurred was on 11/26/2018, 6,199 miles. I had owned the truck 16 months at this time. The second time was on 7/6/2020, 11,982 miles (they called it an axel actuator this time, but it was the same error message on the dash panel as before). The third time was on 12/14/2020, 14,930 miles. The dealer waved the deductible charges, this time, since the truck was just out of the regular warranty and this was an ongoing problem. The fourth time was on 1/19/2024, 21,348 miles. Again, having to use extended warranty and pay the deductible. It's currently in the shop being repaired for the fifth time for the same problem, 5/6/2024, 22,780 miles, not even 4 months and less than 1,500 miles since the previous repair. The dealer also said that the brake pedal sensor is bad this time in addition to all of the abs parts. Once again, having to use extended warranty and pay the deductible. If i count the original abs equipment, this will make the sixth abs equipment that has been on my truck. This is a major safety issue due to the fact that i pull a 15,000 lb. Fifth wheel rv and often times i have to come down mountains after it has failed. The dealer has said that this an ongoing problem with the ram 3500 & 2500 trucks. I have never had any vehicle in my entire life that has had an abs problem, let alone this many times. Something needs to be done to correct this problem before someone is killed!

  • Failed components: SERVICE BRAKES, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, and VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Intermittent “service abs system” light on dash resulting in loss of abs, cruise control, park-sense, and 4x4. No amount of troubleshooting from a reputable diesel mechanic has been able to fix this. From what i have read online this is a very common issue and the truck likely needs an hcu/abs module

The integrated trailer brake controller does not perform enought to actually engage the trailer brakes on multiple trailers. This should be a recall issue for ram. We have two ram trucks with the same issue.

  • Failed components: ENGINE

I bought this dodge truck in 2018 from a certified dodge dealership in california. On march 07th this year around 3pm i was driving on the freeway when experienced an engine stall, had to move the vehicle to the shoulder and almost got hit by a semi-truck. Got the car towed to the nearest dodge dealership where the car was later inspected by a certified service advisor. He stated that the reason for the engine stall was a rod bearing failure. After looking it up on nhtsa's website, i found out that there were 2 open safety recall for this truck which dodge has failed to notify me about and get it fixed. One of the open safety recall is: 664- loss of crankshaft pos. Although a failure in the crankshaft position can usually not directly cause damage to the rod bearing, if there is a failure in the crankshaft position sensor, this can lead to synchronization problems in the engine and if these conditions are severe enough and persist for an extended period, they can eventually lead to engine damage, including damage to the rod bearings. I've contacted dodge directly and they refused to provide any assistance for this matter and closed the case alleging that the truck is past it's warranty and there is nothing they can do about it. The cost of repair is over $33k which i absolutely cannot afford to pay. Insurance company won't cover it either because it was a 'mechanical breakdown'. Upon talking to the california department of consumer affairs, they advised me to contact the nhtsa regarding this matter. Thank you so much in advance, i hope you guys can help me fighting this case.

2019 ram classic with significant wobble /vibration during highway driving between 40 and 80 at cruising speed. Will do similar shaking during acceleration, but not consistently. We have replaced the rims, all 4 tires (the two rear wheels have been replaced twice), the vehicle has been balanced twice, once high speed and once with all 4 wheels. The tires have been balanced as well. The vehicle has gone to several different repair shops trying to troubleshoot the problem. Documents are available upon request.
