Since tesla did a recent software upgrade for the autopilot, the car on a single carriageway drives very close to the right side, and fairly frequently drives over the white line on the right side (i. E. Departing from the travel lane). The car used to sit in the center of the lane. The problem does not occur on the highway where it still travels in the center of the lane. The problem occurs when autopilot is used on route 16 in new hampshire, southbound from wakefield to rochester, nh. Autopilot has to be disengaged to correct the problem.

  • Failed components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, and LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST

While driving ca-17, as is frequently the case, i had to disengage automatic steering several times to correct its poor lane keeping. Much to my surprise, the vehicle stopped maintaining speed, creating a dangerous situation with vehicles behind me as the uphill road caused the vehicle to rapidly decelerate the second i turned the wheel. After experimentation, i discovered that tesla has completely removed cruise control capabilities from these vehicles unless you completely disable the fsd beta functionality, which makes this vehicle highly unsafe to drive in any environment where autosteer is inadequate, including ca-17. Further, this isn't just unsafe on weird highways. This poor decision on tesla's part could very easily cause rear-end collisions on freeways. Nobody in their right minds would expect a vehicle to suddenly massively decelerate just because you correct its poor steering. This is just plain dangerous. This so-called "full self driving (supervised)" version needs to be recalled immediately, and tesla must be forced to make cruise control fallback available regardless of the fsd state. Until they do, it is fundamentally unsafe to allow tesla vehicles to remain on public highways and freeways with fsd (supervised) enabled.

When operating under adaptive cruise control, the vehicle frequently slams on the brakes for no reason. This has become so bad that we are simply terrified to operate the vehicle under adaptive cruise control. The highway is completely empty in front of us, there are no hazards and no issues with visibility on the road. The cruise control simply reacts to a phantom in a highly dangerous manner. > what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The adaptive cruise control - you are welcome to inspect it. > how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? We have suffered two near-miss rear-end collisions at high speed on the interstate. The behavior throws us against the seat belt restraints, causing near loss of control. > has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? We have raised the problem repeatedly with tesla, and there are numerous confirming reports by other tesla owners > has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The system has been checked by tesla, nothing found wrong. Tesla maintains that they are continuing to "train" the system, but after 5. 5 years, there has been no improvement. > were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Nothing - the car simply slams on the brakes.

Car garage door activation software. My tesla car activated the garage door, opening it while i was getting ready to back into the garage, as it was supposed to do. After i initiated backing into the garage, the tesla, on its' own, activated the door to close as i was backing into the garage. The garage door came down onto the top of the spoiler on the rear of my tesla model x. I did not activate the door opener on the control panel. While backing up, i could not see the door in the process of closing. I have a video of the incident. I contacted tesla and was told they would not cover the damage.

The contact owns a 2017 tesla model x. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 23v838000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the autonomous self-driving mode activated, the auto-steer feature was engaged, and the vehicle inadvertently steered into the left lane of oncoming traffic. The contact manually steered the vehicle away from the oncoming traffic. An unknown dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

While driving, the roof top trip came off. There was a recall for this problem in 2020 but mine was not part of the recall. Yet the problem was the same and tesla will not honor their manufacturing defect and repair it.

I have driven this model x a few months now and there are many time i wasn’t able to put on turn signal and honk the horn due to design. The turn signal is activated by turn buttons in a very small area right next to each other. When needed , the button would cause a lot of confusion , for instance , if i want to put on left blinker i would accidentally put on right, it is especially true when trying to put on signal when the steering wheel is already turned, the only way to avoid false input is to physically looking at the turn signal buttons before put on the blinker , but it is very dangerous for you driving because you are taking your view from the road. Also the horn activation is also very dangerous , i have encountered some situation when the horn is required to gain attention from other drivers or even pedestrians, but when needed , i am either missed the horn button completely or would activated the windshield wipers instead due to its design. Just like turn signal i would have to take my eyes off the road to make sure the correct button was pushed. I think it is very dangerous. I hope there’s some recall available to retrofit traditional horn button in the center of the steering and a physical turn stalk. Thank you for reading this and i hope it’s a valid complaint and would result in some positive outcomes to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians.

The model x steering wheel has a haptic horn button instead of the standard mechanical horn that every other car uses. This presents a huge safety issue because of the size and location of the haptic horn button and the fact that it's not a physical or mechanical button. On several occasions the horn has gone off unintentionally causing a road hazard and when an emergency situation arises, you must take your eyes off the road to look for the horn light. This puts my family and others drivers at extreme risk. Tesla appears to have acknowledged the problem because they have since switched back to a mechanical horn, however they refuse to replace our group of drivers horns under warranty. I am submitting this safety because i believe it is a danger to all drivers that the emergency horn is unable to be accessed when needed. Thank you

  • Failed components: WHEELS and UNKNOWN OR OTHER

We bought our tesla model x on or about june 6th 2023, on or about march 22nd our right rear tire developed a leak, we took it to les schwab tires to have it checked our and they discovered it was a cracked wheel, they said it was a defective wheel and that we should take it to tesla to get replaced as they have seen 3 others in the last 2 weeks. We took it to tesla and they said they would not warranty any wheels as they have never warrantied any before. They said it was due to road impact but there is no sign of any impact visible other than the crack. Around that same time our passenger door window button fell inside the door panel so we scheduled an appointment to have it fixed and had been advised it would be covered. My wife took it to them on or about april 19th and one guy said it probably wouldn't be covered then the other service adviser stated that it would be warranty as we have not had the car for even a year but then the service manager refused to fix it and wanted us to pay over $1,000 to fix it. They said it was from abuse that it broke but not sure how you abuse a switch push down on it with your finger to activate switch. Now on saturday april 27th we have developed another tire loosing air, now the left rear due to another cracked wheel. Now i did more research online and have found numerous people with the same problems and having 3-4 of their factory wheels breaking. This is also on top of the car wearing out the inside edge of the tire while the center and outer part of the tire has lots of life left in it meaning that the alignment is not properly set but tesla says that it is normal because it is a performance vehicle. Not sure that i would consider a 6 passenger sub a performance vehicle
