The engine has shut off on multiple occasions since we bought it in 2022. It appears to shut off at traffic lights and we are given the indicator message to start car manually. Typically when this happens we have to put the car in park and restart the engine. Just the other day 5/13/24 this happened again while i was sitting at a traffic light and i put the car in park and restarted the engine and as soon as i did it, the car shut off again, it did this 3 times in a row before i was able to get the car moving. We have taken it to the dealer and there are no error codes they can find and they cannot mimic what is happening either. This is a huge safety issue as i am highly afraid one of these times that i will be stopped at a light trying to get my car to start and will get rear-ended or worse.
I have a problem with navigation. My location is not determined correctly, the route is constantly being reroute. Vw atlas cs 2020 sel premium. This happens with regular navigation and with google / apple maps when connected via wire. The problem is 100% with the car. Took it to the dealer (washington). They said it was a big problem and vw didn't know how to fix it. Navigation is an important element; during trips it is easy to get lost and create an emergency situation. The vw regional manager said that vw is trying to create a system update, but it will not be ready until 2025. They refuse to replace the information system.
I having issues the the carplay gps. Only happens with my bw cross sport. The gps 20% of the time will not know where it is. It drifts off from where it is suppose to be.
I purchased this car new in 2021. Shortly after purchase, the brakes start grinding / squealing very badly. This is an intermittent problem. On multiple occasions, it has startled me so badly that i let up on the brake. This almost caused me to hit the vehicle in front of me. Volkswagen has been unresponsive to dealer's request for a solution. When looking online, it apparently the construction of the brake pads that causes the issue. Ceramic brake pads do not have this same issue. However, volkswagen will not authorize a payment to replace the oem brake pads with ceramic pads.
On march 6, 2024 i received a crack in my windshield while driving that spans nearly the entire width across the windshield at driver's eye level. Volkswagen has informed me that there are zero replacement windshields for this vehicle available in the entire country. I have attempted to work with volkswagen directly, the originating dealership directly and 3rd party safety glass retailers. There is no anticipated date that the manufacturer is going to make this windshield part available and the vehicle is unsafe to drive. This vehicle is brand new and it is unacceptable that the manufacturer is not required to manufacture and make available important safety components to service these vehicles while still selling the exact same vehicles as new.
Vehicle is turning off while driving or when getting to a stop sign or red light. It turns off completely. No warnings lights or messages when shutting off. * after vehicle shuts off message on dashboard says you must star car manually. * unable to move steering wheel do to car being shut off * unable to accelerate to move to safety * afraid of people behind the car, not having enough time to break due to vehicle deceleration because car shut off ** vehicle check and supposedly fix issue came back
Received an error emergency sos call function failure! I took my vehicle to vw loyalty and paid $180 to get a diagnosis. I was told that the carnet module needed replacement and would cost me a bit over $1200. They said that it was a known issue amongst 20-21 versions of the vehicle. I researched to find if anyone else experienced the same with this car and to my surprise, there are a slew of individuals with this issue on the vwatlas forum expressing my exact concerns. If this is a well known issue, that’s apparently a manufacturers mishap, why hasn’t this system been recalled. Why are we being charged to replace something that has been proven faulty by none of our fault at all. I’ve never used my sos and i think something should be done about this, instead of allowing vw customers to be bled of funds after purchasing!
When driving the car the gps looses its location making it impossible to proceed to a planned destination. It causes you to try to fix the issue while driving and locating a place to pull off the road. It has taken me to places were i did not want to go. The dealer can’t fix the problem.
Windsheld cracks instantly, every time a small pebble hits it. Saw that the older models that this problem also. I have owned atleast 8 cars and this is only vehicle that's windsheld cracks everything a small pebble hits it on highway. Hundred of others on social media are reporting the same problem!
The gps system will not work in the vehicle that includes the built in gps navigation, apple maps, google maps and waze gps. This is a major safety issue because you cannot drive safely and look at maps. This problem is effecting hundreds of vws and they do not have a solution.
