When coming to a stop light, car occasionally shuts off engine completely. Needing car to be put in park and to push start button to restart car. It is not the automatic stop/start technology. Sometimes happend back to back and leaving us dead in traffic for a few seconds.
Booster seat in high back mode has a seatbelt threader that causes the seatbelt to lock inappropriately trapping the child in the seat and/or rendering the seatbelt dysfunctional for use. The seatbelt positioner on the carseat and overall design impede proper use of the vehicle's seatbelt. This happens both when child is in the seat or out of the seat, leading to difficulties either getting the child in and out of the seat, which in an emergency where extraction is necessary would be a safety concern. Routinely, the booster seat had to be taken out entirely in order to get the seatbelt to unlock and restore its functionality, all of which limits the safe efficacious use of the booster. Whether installed by latch or just resting on the seat (both of which are manufacturer recommended methods for installation) this issue of design impeding vehicle seatbelt function occurs. Further, either in full-back mode or when the back of the booster is removed, the arm rest design impedes easy access to the car's seat belt apparatus making it difficult to click the belt in. I contacted the manufacturer and was offered no recourse. Short of having video of when the belt is locked with child in place, i took photos showing the belt threader and how arm rest impede buckle. The belt positioner is causing the problem because it creates tension that causes the car's seat belt to lock rendering the seat impossible or very difficult and finicky to use with a seatbelt.
there are issues with the emergency break system while driving. It is usually okay for the car to stop when reversing. Yesterday while driving with my children, i crossed some train track at a speed of about 30-35 miles per hour as the green light was on. As soon as i reached 75% in the tracks, all of a sudden the emergency brakes turned on, the car stopped in traffic and was about to be hit. As scary and dangerous as this was, thankfully the car in the back was able to stop in time. Despite never experiencing this before, i found out many vwg owners have had similar experiences. In order to avoid causing serious accident, i will have the dealer inspect the car and turn it off immediately. I ask for your help so there is something done about it as soon as possible. This cars needs to get recalled have the dealer fix this issue. Serious accidents and deaths can occur. Thank god my kids are fine. My neck is a little sour but i am okay.
Broken rear coil spring requiring replacement of both rear springs. The springs were replaced at the state safety inspection in august 2023. The broken parts were not retained. Failure of part could have resulted in loss of control of the vehicle. The work was completed by an independent garage. There was no warning other than reduction of ride comfort.
The contact owned a 2021 volkswagen id. 4. The contact stated that while driving on a highway at a moderate speed, traffic came to a sudden halt. The vehicle's forward avoidance collision feature activated; however, the feature did not perform at full capacity and hesitated to fully stop. The contact repeatedly pumped the brake pedal; however, the vehicle independently accelerated crashed into the vehicle ahead which resulted in a five vehicle accident. An unknown red warning light appeared on the instrument panel during the failure. The air bags deployed upon impact. Upon air bag deployment, the contact sustained burns to the left thumb and chest; additionally, the contact experienced soreness to the cervical spine, neck, both knees and both ankles. The driver of the vehicle which the contact directly hit also sustained a sore neck but neither driver sought medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was deemed a total loss. Prior to the accident, the contact stated that a software update was performed on the vehicle which changed the vehicle's driving performance. The contact also noted that while driving at 70 mph after the software update was performed, the vehicle independently accelerated without depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact was not certain if any warning lights appeared on the instrument panel during the failure. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Car has 11,144. Took it in for coolant issues had ny state inspection done. Was told rear brakes and rotors needed to be replaced at the cost of1000. 00 dollars. I need to check fronts in 6 months. I use the car mostly to see my daughter and granddaughter in ct. Mostly highway driving. I went on line and found a lot of customers are having the same problem. This is my third vw lease i never had a problem with brakes. I was upset that this is a problem for a lot of people. I also have a check engine check coolant problem. This will be the sixth time i am bringing the car in. They are keeping my car with no loaner for a week to replace the head gasket. I have a baby shower on long island for my niece and will have to pay hundreds of dollars for a rental or uber. I am disabled and live on a thousand dollars a month.
When driving over train tracks the automatic emergency brakes engaged and the forward collision detection beeping alarm sounded. This has happened over 5 times since i have owned the car. Many times the forward collision alarm will go off without engaging the brakes, seemingly without cause. Only when passing over train tracks do the emergency brakes bring the vehicle to a stop or to an extreme slowdown. I have a video of the incident if you would like it, but no way to upload on this website. You can hear the emergency brake and alarm going off with nothing in front of my car.
The contact's son owns a 2024 volkswagen golf gti. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds for several hours, an unknown yellow symbol illuminated on the instrument panel, and a message stating that the vehicle needed to cool down was displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into gear. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the failure was due to user error and diagnosed that there was a burned clutch and that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
Currently gas is pouring from back right bumper. The pump is siphoning gas from the tank & onto the pavement. In the garage & on the driveway. We cannot fill our tank more than 1/4 at this time.
My vehicle has stalled out before for no reason and the dealership is unable to help in diagnosing the issue without a fault code. This issue has been ongoing since i purchased my vehicle in 2021. Three years later as i was making a sharp left turn going very slow my car stalled out, engine light came on and i received a start/stop error along with a message stating to restart the engine manually. Again this has been happing since i purchased brand new from dealership. Every turn i make going uphill, my vehicle stutters and rpms revved up which is very unsafe and has me on constant alert. Now that an engine code appeared, i am out of warranty and dealership still refuses to help with the issue. Code fault i received from engine light is p0496.
