2017 Nissan TITAN - ENGINE Failure Complaint (#b0c4f3)

2017 Nissan TITAN

  • Date of Incident: Oct-25, 2023
  • Date complaint filed: Apr-23, 2024
  • Failed components: ENGINE

I was accelerating onto the highway approaching 60 mph when a loud rapping noise began from the engine with a loss of power and seveare vibration almost causing me to lose control of the truck. Engine lights came on at the same time. I was able to pull over to the shoulder and shut the truck down. It would not restart after that. Dealer indicated snapped crank shaft and a replacement motor would be needed. Truck powertrain was supposed to be covered under the certified pre-owned agreement but they indicated block replacement was not covered however. Truck only has 64,000 miles on it (2017 titan xd 5. 0-l cummins). Thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6)
