While driving on the highway, the engine started to sputter when gas pedal was depressed, turned around and drove it straight to a mechanic. At the mechanic, they were unable to shift the car out of park, and noted the transmission had "catastrophic failure, irrepairable" we called ford, and they said while there is a recall for 2020 ford escapes, this one was built in a different factor and was not covered.
