2022 Ford MUSTANG MACH E
  • Date of Incident: Apr-18, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Apr-25, 2024
  • Failed components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM and ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

- what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? According to ford service, this is confirmed to be a high voltage battery junction box failure (hvbjb). The part is pending replacement currently at central ford, ca. While ford issue recall (23s56) to replace all hvbjbs in extended range and gt model '21 and '22 vehicles built before may 24, 2022, my car was built after the date. - how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The failure of hvbjb directly leads to the lose of power suddenly when driving on the highway. I was cruising on california state highway ca-110 while the car pops up "stop safely now" on the instrument cluster. I lost all power for acceleration and relies purely on 12v battery to power the accesories. There was no emergency lane near the location of the incident which leads to the blockage of highway on the junction from ca-110s to i-10w. This post a significant threat to me as the driver and all other drivers on highway. More importantly, the 12v almost died before the tow truck and police could arrive to solve the incident. Fortunately, i was not hit by ongoing vehicles, but multiple vehicles have to brake agressively to prevent collision. The car was unable to be shifted to n or d since the incident. -has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle had been inspected by service department at central ford and confirmed by engineers at ford to be a hvbjb failure. - were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? 2 warnings and notifications can be seen from information cluster: "full accessory power active", and "stop safely now. " there is no information displayed on the main infotainment screen.

2014 Ford Fusion
  • Date of Incident: Jun-01, 2022
  • Date complaint filed: Apr-25, 2024
  • Failed components: POWER TRAIN

I bought Ford Fusion Hybrid 2014 from Marine County Ford 1/12022 (@51,000+ miles) The car was inspected & in “good condition”. In 5 months, 6/2022 (@61,000+ miles) I noticed a barely distinguishable noise. My mechanic discovered a tiny leak in transmission. There were NO leaks under car. This “tiny” leak took 2.0L of transmission fluid to fill, so the car was ALMOST OUT of transmission fluid. There was NO warning on the dashboard. Mechanic said the leak had to be 6-12 months old since the hole was small it had to take long time for all fluid to leak out. Same day while driving on FREEWAY, the vehicle suddenly started shaking and became almost uncontrollable, then Dashboard displayed “stop immediately”. I barely managed to steer it to the closest exit. It turned out the bearing (VERY small part) was completely destroyed & because of it the WHOLE unit needed to be replaced. It’s a huge unit 1/3 size of the car. Both dealer and FORD said the car was out of warranties (warranty issued only for 8 years/100,000 miles) not applicable @61,000 miles. They also denied coverage with extended 90 days warranty, even tho mechanic stated the leak was old. Ford has this transmission issue listed in their TSB which means it’s a KNOWN DEFECT to the dealer. The repair cost was 1/2 of car value. But Ford dealers do NOT disclose this. I did replace transmission in 8/2022, with my mechanic with the unit from used car with 54,000 miles on it, “tested and certified by the “SWEngines”, a national parts dealer. BUT that unit ALSO broke, also after 5 months, due to SAME defect of same bearing. The unit had apps. 65,000 miles. But I was watching it. I had to pay twice, for both units. This model represents DANGER on the road due to faulty transmissions that can break any time, without warning. Leaks in them are not easily detectable and even concealed by the cover absorbing oil. Warranties issued INCORRECTLY for this defect. There are other 1500 cases on internet like this. Thank u

After driving on hwy for about 2 hours the air conditioning stops working or works intermittently. Noticed it started working again after stopping for a few minutes for highway construction but a few minutes after getting back on the road stopped working again. Evaporater may be freezing because i can hear the fan running on high but no air is coming out of vents. Not sure if tsb has been issued for this can be a safety issue as well because i cannot defog / defrost windshield or rear windows.

2022 Ford MAVERICK
  • Date of Incident: Apr-01, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Apr-25, 2024
  • Failed components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM and ENGINE

On april 1, 2024, while using cruise control going uphill on the interstate in heavy traffic, the truck went into limp mode without warning, and multiple lights appeared on the dashboard. Once i swerved over to the side of the road i turned the truck off, let it sit for 15 minutes and turned it back on. Turning it back on allowed the truck to get out of limp mode, but the check engine light remained. This happened several times on my drive, but i was able to finally finish my drive several hours later. Next day, all lights on the dashboard were off. The ford dealership could not determine the source of the issue or recreate the issue. This is a major concern as this issue put my safety at risk and could have caused a major accident on a major interstate, putting others’ safety at risk as well. On april 23, 2024, i went to start the truck, and the battery was dead. I confirmed no lights were on to drain the battery, and from april 23, 2024 forward, my power windows randomly stop working.

Shortly after purchasing my new 2023 f150 lariat (in december 2023), i noticed that the driver side sun visor was extremely loose when moving the visor from the center mount to the block the sun from coming in from the side window. I noticed that the visor was bouncing in the mount (near the a-piller). I put my hand on it and it felt as if it was about to fall out. Checked the passenger side and same thing. Tried tightening the screw and no joy. There is no way that someone installed these things and didn't notice. I had a 21 xlt and didn't have this problem. I had it in the dealer twice. I tried to secure it, but didn't help. The dealer attempted to fix but then they told me it was normal. When i was leaving the dealer, i moved the driver's visor and it fell out of the mount. They put it back in and ordered a new retention nut and screw. A few months later they replaced the parts but the visors were sloppy loose. The driver side fell out again (fortunately i wasn't driving). I wound up coming up with a fix myself. In any case, if the visor falls out when someone is driving, it can absolutely cause a major distraction and possible accident. Mine is not the only vehicle that has this issue. I started a thread and received numerous responses. Https://www. F150gen14. Com/forum/threads/loose-sun-visors-2023-lariat. 21640/. I'm sure that there are thousands of trucks out there with this issue.
