The contact stated that while attempting to enter the trunk, the contact heard a click, but the trunk failed to unlatch, and the contact was unable to open the trunk. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.
Since i am just finding out how to file a complaint i figured i would. I still have this car with me. The incident happened about 2 years ago. I was driving down the highway going to castle rock colorado. When all of a sudden my car is thrown into neutral and my rpms go to 6,000. I had no way to accelerate and the car wasn't in gear to help decelerate. Since i was going down the highway at a high rate of speed trucks and cars were all around me.. I immediately turned on my four ways and pulled the car over to the side of the highway. As there was nothing wrong with the motor and it seemed like it was just with the transmission i. Decided to continue but as i continued when i got to 4 gear it would once again throw it out of gear and i couldn't accelerate and i had to pull over. At this point i knew something was wrong. I immediately got the car to a safe area and got it home and the next day got the car to the mechanic. The mechanics said that i needed a new transmission 4 gear is just missing. When the mechanic was putting back together. The very expensive $7,345. 00 transmission. He got the parts directly from lexus and when he went to test, drive the car with the same but new components the transmission immediately failed again, not allowing him to shift in the 4 gear and stalling the car putting him in danger on a busy road. When he got back to his shop he called back to lexus to verify that the parts that he was given were correct. They verified that the new parts he was given are the old design and that he needed upgraded newer parts that lexus has designed and should have never gotten the other ones. At this point he got the proper parts again and for a second time put the upgrade parts in and it worked. By lexus not giving the mechanic, the proper upgraded parts. Not only did they put me in danger with the part breaking the first time on the highway they put the mechanic in danger by not giving him the upgraded parts the first time... Thank you
Driving on the local road, no cars on the road, no underpass and the sunroof exploded. All windows was closed and sunroof was closed.
I allowed a software update to my vehicle about six weeks ago. Now, about 10 minutes after starting the car, a screen comes up, completely covering all vehicle information. The screen does not close except with repeated tapping of the x and the left bar. Closing the screen requires attention that would be better paid to road conditions and other drivers. I asked my lexus dealer service department to get rid of the screen. They were unable to do so. They suggested contacting lexus via the emergency button while parked. I did so but when i replied that i did not have an emergency, i was disconnected. If this screen came up when the vehicle is started, then it would not be a safety concern. But coming up 10 minutes after ignition, it is definitely a dangerous distraction. I live in a mountainous region where driving requires full attention. It is a 30 minute drive to where i can pull over and get rid of the screen. During this time i am distracted by the screen and have no access to vehicle information.
The drivers side door (light at the bottom of the door) sparked and then the door went up in flames. At that point the electricity in the car ceased to work. The car is available for inspection at the dealership where we had it towed. If the door was closed and there was someone in the car when it happened then they would have gotten burned or worse. Our insurance company is investigating and lexus has been taking their time and helpful in the matter. Fire department checked out the car at the time and said the wires in the door were very hot after putting out the fire. There were no symptoms or warnings prior to this happening.

Excessive front pads wear: first replacement @13,000 miles. Second front pads replacement recommended @15,350 miles.
Safety recall was issue in july 2023. Nhtsa recall number 23v478, manufacturer recall number 23lb01. As of today march 2024, there still no remedy for the recall. I'm not able to use the car because of this safety recall. Over 8 months with no remedy or timeline when it will be fix.
I was in a car accident on the freeway. I had just got onto the freeway so i couldn’t have been going that fast. The brakes on this lexus nx [xxx] to say the least. Also the collision sensor and warning also are useless. The warning light and sound didn’t go off until i was basically rear ending the other vehicle. I had a different , 10 year old car. A 2014 that would start to pump air and brake itself even when the car sensor believed it was close to a car and i wasn’t braking. This 2024 lexus didn’t brake nor warn me in time. When i did notice the car in front of me had come to a complete stop i immediately hit the brakes but the car was still sliding forward! This sliding motion happened once before when i made a u- turn and had to stop because of the line going into a shopping center.
